Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Wake up to the sounds of nature, a cup of coffee on the porch, or cozied up by the fire with a book. Prepare simple meals in the kitchenette, or head out to local restaurants within a ten minute drive. Enjoy being comfortable while close to nature. Guests love the comfortable bed, and the pullout futon makes it an affordable option for families. Nearby walking trails, swimming holes, mountain biking, gravel biking out the door, and cross-country ski areas nearby. Fire pit with wood provided.

The space
The yurt has everything you need for a relaxing stay:
* Comfortable queen-sized bed with high-quality linens and four pillows
* Loveseat and futon that folds out if you need it

The kitchenette includes:
* A microwave, induction burner, electric kettle, toaster oven, French press coffeemaker, and small fridge/freezer
* Dishes, silverware, knives, cutting board, cups, mugs
* Sharp knives
* Small and large cooking pots with lids
* Fair trade coffee & tea
* Olive oil, salt, pepper
* Large slotted spoon and spatula for cooking
* Can opener, peeler, strainer, bottle opener
* Dish towels and 'bar mop towels'
* Dish detergent and sponges
* Drying rack
* Compost bucket

We provide potable drinking water in 5-gallon water containers. One with a USB-powered pump for ease of filling containers, the second a stainless steel water container

If you choose to cook, please wash what you so they are ready for the next guest. Water is heated in the tea kettle, as there is no running water in the yurt. Water from the dish drain needs to be emptied outside.

The yurt is heated with a pellet stove that looks like a fireplace (we provide the pellets), as well a Rinnai propane wall heater. Fans are also provided for white noise and cooling on warmer days. There is no air conditioning.

Guests use a beautiful composting toilet that we keep spotless. It is just a few steps from the yurt.

Enjoy walks on the dirt roads and nearby East Montpelier Trails. Families with little kids make good use of the play structures near the yurt, roasting marshmallows over the campfire and the spacious yard. While we live on the property, you can't see our house from the yurt. People love the hard-to-find privacy we offer, while being close to town.

East Montpelier is home to nearly 15 miles of walking trails through rolling farmland and forest. Camel's Hump, Mount Hunger and Mt. Mansfield are all within a half 45 minute drive. The local parks department maintains ski trails with panoramic views of the Green Mountains, and nearby ponds, rivers, and lakes offer wonderful spots for swimming and boating. If you love life on two wheels, treat yourself to the miles of dirt roads and nearby mountain biking trails. I'm an avid outdoorswoman and will happily point you to the best spots in the area.
