An 1881 restored farmhouse awaits you. Surrounded by acreage in all directions, a stay at Moon Grove Farm offers farmland views, cool breezes, starry nights and relaxation. Your group will enjoy three updated bedrooms, a private full bathroom, spacious living room and a covered porch. Your hosts prepare a farm fresh breakfast each morning.

The space
Moon Grove Farm is conveniently located in Mahomet, IL. We're a 15-20 minute drive from the University of Illinois located in Champaign-Urbana. From larger metro areas, we're 139 miles from Indianapolis, 146 miles from downtown Chicago, and 175 miles from St. Louis, MO. Just far enough to "get away", while not having to lose a day to travel.

Whether you're in town for an Alumni event, attending a farm-to-table dinner at nearby Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery, doing a girls getaway, family overnight with the kids or just want to spend a night in a quiet rural setting - we have the farm stay experience to meet your needs.

The rental package includes staying in the second story of your hosts' restored 1890’s farmhouse. The living room and second floor will be your private part of the house which includes three bedrooms, one full bath and a large living room. Each bedroom room is outfitted with soft sheets, a queen-sized bed, ample pillows to curl up with a book and rustic furniture. In the hallway outside your room, peruse six book shelves to find the perfect book to read during your stay. In the bathroom, enjoy the dual shower head and vintage subway tile decor.

You'll also have a private porch and entrance to the farmhouse off the ground floor. Come and go as you please. Your hosts will close the french doors that separate the living room from the dining room, to ensure your group has privacy and comfort. If you choose, on the main floor enjoy a cozy living room with antique velvet chairs and a wood-burning stove. Peek inside the coffee table to find board games and playing cards.

Your hosts, Mike and Jen (and their two pug mixes dogs), reside on the first floor of the farmhouse. Included in your stay is breakfast they'll serve at a time convenient for you. When you wake, come downstairs to the living room and a pot of coffee and cream will be waiting. They’ll open the french doors to the dining room and invite you to enjoy a breakfast including fresh eggs, bacon, biscuits and jam, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. Where possible, items served are sourced locally such as coffee from Page Roasting, Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery's cheese, baked goods from Lucky Moon Pies & More, meat from Bane Family Meats or fruit from the farm.

During your stay, you're welcome to stroll our you-pick flower farm (seasonal: open July - October), visit with our chickens, borrow a picnic blanket and stretch out under a 200 year old sugar maple tree. Feel like playing yard games? Croquet, bocce and a bags set available. In the evening, BYO adult beverages and hang out outside to take in the starry skies. Relax and enjoy rural life on our farm!

Group Travel - We’re great for small groups:
Family Fun: we’re kid friendly! For families staying with us, we have additional programming available for kid entertainment, education and family fun. We’re a 30-minute drive from a drive-in movie theater too.
Cyclists: We’re a few miles from Lake of the Woods. Bring your bicycle and plan a route to see covered bridges and a nature preserve. On your way back, stop in town for a pint and burger.
Girls Getaway: Ladies getting together for a staycation? We know local yoga instructors and could organize a flower field morning yoga session. We can also coordinate a private driver to take you on a brewery or winery tour.
