The Loft Cabin is warm, inviting, and made almost entirely out of wood. Like most things on our property, it was in a state of neglect when we took ownership in 2015. We have since lovingly restored and rejuvenated the cabin, while preserving it's beautiful patina and rustic elements. The exposed log high-beam ceiling and handmade wood sash windows create an open airy feel. The decor is light, bright, and all about comfort and creating a truly unique experience. Perched up high, you'll feel like you're in a tree house!

Come soak in the secluded Sky & Timber setting nestled in the forest among impressive trees — the play of light and wood creates a space and an experience that is special and unforgettable. Enjoy the cabin's beautiful natural surroundings from the private covered cedar deck, adorned with a redwood picnic table, an outdoor heater, and a Weber BBQ — perfect for cooking and dining al fresco year round. Watch the sun set and the stars twinkle while staying warm next the epic reclaimed steel tank fire pit. Explore the majestic views and winding forest trails, right outside your door.

Guest access
The entire cabin and surrounding outdoor area is yours to enjoy. The workshop below is a real working shop where we build and fix bikes, vehicles, and a variety of other things. We don't go in there much when guests are visiting, and when we do, we keep it quiet and always respect your privacy. You're welcome to explore other parts of our property such as the forest trails and the garden space. We simply ask that you respect our privacy and avoid the area around our home.

Other things to note
*CLEANING PROTOCOL*
We’re committed to Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed in partnership with experts in health and hospitality. Here are a few highlights: we comply with local laws regarding safety and cleaning; we use cleaners and disinfectants approved by the EPA; we wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination; we use extensive cleaning checklists; and we sanitize all high-touch surfaces. We also stock the cabin with cleaning supplies and sanitizer, so you can clean during your stay.

*OCCUPANCY & VISITORS*
The cabin's maximum occupancy is three, but it's best-suited for two. Please refrain from inviting unregistered visitors to our property without consent.

*CELLULAR & INTERNET*
You're tucked in the trees, so there is no internet or wifi in the cabin — perfect for disconnecting. However, most visitors get decent cell service here.

*CHILDREN & PETS*
The cabin and property are not child-proof or well-suited for children — there are stairs, high places, fire pits, steep trails, and other potential hazards. Pets and wildlife roam freely here, so we're unable to accommodate additional animals at this time. We care for three sweet cats and a flock of happy free range forest chickens. We also keep honeybees and feed the birds year round.

*POTENTIAL HAZARDS*
The cabin sits atop a hill and requires climbing a fairly steep driveway to access. It's mostly paved, but the driveway can be slippery at times. It also gets very dark out here at night. Please use extra caution when navigating the parking area, driveway, and country roads. Poison oak is prolific in these parts. Stick to the trails and be on the lookout for their glossy green leaves of three.

*POTENTIAL NOISE*
It's very peaceful and quiet here — you can hear the wind and the trees, the birds and the bees. Sometimes you can also hear farm equipment or loud vehicles in the distance. We apologize for the noise disturbance.

*SECURITY & PRIVACY*
Our property is secured by a gated entrance requiring a remote to open. You're welcome to explore our beautiful five-acre wooded paradise — we simply ask that you respect our privacy and avoid the area around our home.

*SMOKING PROHIBITED*
Please no smoking or vaping inside the cabin or anywhere on our property. Thank you for helping keep this beautiful natural retreat clean and toxin-free.

*STAIRS & LADDER*
Your private entrance and porch is located atop a flight of stairs. The stunning forest and territorial views are worth the climb. The twin loft bed is only accessible by climbing a wooden ladder and is best-suited for a flexible adult.

*WILDLIFE & PESTS*
There are birds, bugs, bats, spiders, and a variety of other wildlife living among us. Most are friendly and entertaining to watch, but there is always a chance of encountering a pest or a predator. Please let us know if we can help.

Our country neighborhood is called Valley View, and we call our little piece of paradise THE SHIRE. Our property is perched on a North-facing hillside overlooking the beautiful valley below and the endless sky above. There is lots of wildlife to watch and so many cool birds visiting our trees and feeders year round — everything from sweet songbirds and hummingbirds, to the amazing flying predators such as hawks, eagles, and owls. We provide a natural sanctuary for deer, squirrels, jackrabbits, bunnies, and variety of other interesting creatures. Furry four-legged predators are frequently sighted in this area, but we've never spotted any on our property.

The cabin and surrounding outdoor area is private and secluded with no neighbors in sight. Our charming log home is just down the hill but is mostly out of sight, and only adds to the magical feel of this very special place. You can just barely see it through the trees from the cabin front window during the Winter months.

We are Jason & Shasta — your welcoming hosts and the gracious caretakers of this lovely land, we call THE SHIRE. We escaped here from the busy city of Seattle, where we both grew up and later joined forces. A series of fortunate and unfortunate events brought us here in the middle of Winter, January 2015. Ever since, we’ve been working hard to restore and elevate the unique structures and natural beauty that resides here. We started with our beloved LOG HOME, then branched out from there. It took three years, and a whole lot of blood, sweat, and tears. But we did it! And NOW, we’re overjoyed to share our little piece of OREGON COUNTRY PARADISE with YOU — and anyone who is looking to RETREAT in a place, and inside a space, that is truly special. * * * Shasta is a down-home country girl, devoted yogi, freelance designer, and marketing guru who loves creating beautiful spaces and unique experiences. She is blessed to work out of our beautiful home as a freelancer, and a host. Jason is an intensely passionate cyclist and bike mechanic who is handy in more ways than one. He used to fix cars, now he fixes everything and keeps our property looking naturally beautiful. Together, we live a simple life filled with love, laughter, music, adventure, and delicious organic gluten-free food. We prefer a more intimate kind of travel with road trips, ferry rides, long walks and talks, hiking, cycling, and staying in cozy places where we feel at home and can make our own food. We love exploring nature's spender, historic small towns, and windy country backroads. We're grateful for the opportunity to travel, explore, learn, grow, and love more.
