Maison Marais: Minutes from Frenchmen St. (10-15 min) & the French Quarter (another 5-10 min), both within walking distance or by bus or streetcar. This 2-bedroom home features a large living room, a new contemporary bathroom, and two bedrooms. The St. Roch Market is next door on the corner (with multiple food stalls, oyster bar and wine bar), and the house is adjacent to the charms of Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods. 6 music/bars within 3 blocks, coffee and restaurants nearby.

The space

Spacious and a bargain compared to many units of same price and features a new contemporary bathroom.

Maison Marais is a large, 2-bedroom home, 1/2 of a double shotgun house in a vibrant local community. It's has a mix of modern and antique furniture, right next to St. Roch Market, and is walking distance to Frenchmen Street (10-15 min) and the French Quarter (another 5-10 min). A good fit for two individuals or two couples. The sofa converts to a twin-sized bed.

Easy parking usually right in front of the house and public transportation just 1/2 block away. Walking distance to many coffee shops, local restaurants, music venues and bars. Same block as great neighborhood bar and in the St. Claude Arts and Entertainment District (art openings every 2nd Sat of each month), just across St. Claude from the new Healing Arts Center and the Marigny Theatre. This area is home to many musicians, artists and film industry folks. Bike rentals are nearby.

House features furnished living room (with George Nelson sofa and Steelcase chairs), 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 queen), and new contemporary bathroom. Clean. Nice linens, towels and toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion) provided. Free wifi. Note that there is an addition in the back of this rental which is not part of the rental. The owner has access to this addition through a separate door, and a locked door separates the rental from this space.

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS
Whether it's eating, listening to music, thrift store shopping, hanging out in coffee shops, doing yoga or going to a small theatrical production, you can find these things within blocks of Maison Marais. There's plenty of day and night life here. Many guests visit the French Quarter on their first day in New Orleans but choose to stay close to home during the rest of their stay.

SHORT STAYS AND SPECIAL OFFERS
If my calendar shows only 2 days available, please feel free to request a 2-night stay (instead of the 3-night minimum). If I can accommodate you, I will. If you'd like to book 1-2 nights only, and there are more available nights, there is a $30 cleaning fee if accepted.

WHY STAY AT MAISON MARAIS?
If you're the type of person who enjoys stepping out the the typical tourist traps and wants a home away from home where you can live more like a local, this is for you. Have the comforts of a large home to spread out in and to come back to when you need a rest. Besides the two bedrooms, there's a separate living room, providing more space than most other accommodations. So close to many things, one doesn't have to go far to feel right at home in New Orleans.

If arriving by air, I know a local cab driver who can pick you up at your gate (avoiding the cab queues) and drive you directly to the house without any additional costs over the standard rate to and from the airport. If interested, be sure to ask for her contact information. Please note that there's a public bus from the airport to Canal Street, From there, transfer to bus 88, and you're there, 1/2 block from the house.

I like to meet my guests upon arrival, if possible. If not then, at sometime during their stay. Since I live on the premises, I'm often available if there's a need.
I wish for all guests to be comfortable and have basis necessities met. Please let me know if there is anything you need during your stay.

Georgia is a more than accommodating host, so knowledgeable, inviting and friendly. She let us check in early, got us familiar with her lovely home and then went the extra mile in walking us to St Roch Market. Wonderful local market full of great eats and atmosphere where we frequented during our stay. The home was very clean and well stocked with everything you would need, including local information. We loved to location because it was removed from the bustle of the French quarter and provided a bit of sanctuary, but was only an $8 Uber ride or 15-20 minute walk. We loved the character of the home, late 1800s, along with Georgia's modern touches. We'd definitely stay again.

Georgia's house was amazing. Very beautiful, clean, elegant, and had lots of charm. Georgia was very genuine and kind! The best part was the St Roch Market. We were there at least two times a day! We hope to return soon and stay at this place again!

Georgia is the 4th airbnb host I've had. Her hospitality and friendliness I'm sure will not be exceeded. She met us at the door and gave us tour of the place and the neighborhood pointing to places and bus stops. She also messaged us the first morning after to be sure things were going well. Her warm introduction was a prelude to her charming and comfortable accommodations. You will not be disappointed.

Georgia provided us with a top-notch Airbnb experience! The apartment was spacious, stylish, and sparkling clean. The St. Roch Market next door was a great place to grab a coffee in the morning or a cocktail and oysters on the half shell during happy hour. We highly recommend staying here!

Our stay at Georgia was fantastic! The house was spacious, clean, and very tastefully decorated. I could live there! The location is perfect: close enough to Frenchman (best street to go out), the French quarter, the street cars and public transportation. Most importantly, though, you're in a real, non-touristy neighborhood and you really feel like a local. As other guests mentioned, the market around the block is a true gem for every meal and for a drink or two. However, my favorite part was meeting Georgia! She welcomed us in person, was very friendly and at the same time respectful of our privacy. She gave us the best recommendations, including when to avoid the crowds. I couldn't have hoped for a better stay in New Orleans. Thank you, Georgia!

My daughter, son and I have just had three glorious days in Maison Marais. A haven of good taste and comfort. We loved the area and walked very easily into the French Quarter, enjoying seeing the local homes on the way. Georgia was very attentive and prompt in corresponding, even overcoming a sore throat to come out and greet us and say farewell. Her home is beautiful: clean, stylish and cool. Gorgeous bathroom. Take Georgia's tips. We enjoyed the Boogaloo on the Bayou festival because of her advice. Sample the St Roch food hall but do venture further for fun. Strongly recommended. A lifetime dream fulfilled. Laissez les bons temps rouler.
