I would definitley recommend Alfredo's beautiful and sweetly decorated house near Lipari. Its a little cozy retreat, ideal for couples and you have plenty of space for your own. There a two big terraces from where you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the Aeolian Sea. And it is well equipped with really everything you need (except internet, but that was what we were looking for! :)) especially the hammock is great!
Alfredo was a really polite and helpful host, he picked us up at the harbour even late in the evening because our ferry was on delay.
He helped with everything, answerd quickly via sms and explained a lot. Thank you again!
According to the host, accomodation, furniture and cleanliness I would give 5 stars, it's just the location that missed the fifth:
You need a scooter, otherwise you can't reach anything without walking a few kilometers. And the house itself is located really rurally, where only a small dirtroad leads to it. But nevertheless it is totally worth it!
PS: One word according the scooter: Our experience with renting the scooter at Luigi's was not that positive, so we would personally recommend to choose one of the other renters. But maybe we had only some bad luck.
Great Place, very relaxing, be sure you have a car or vespa
In September 2013 we had 4 great days at this location. It's a very typical house - without luxury and equipped only with the most necessary things but it is very charming and cosy with a spectacular view over the surrounding islands and amazing sunsets. The house is located in a very quite area in the hills of Lipari, so it's perfect if you are looking for peace and relaxation and enjoy crusing around with scooters as we did. Alfredo was very friendly and picked us up at our arrival and departure days.
Wish we could have stayed longer! Thanks for a great holiday! Annika
Alfredo was a wonderful host, and House Particular was beyond our expectations. Really the perfect vacation spot! We got a lot of tips for Lipari from Alfredo, all of which were fantastic. We even ran into him in town a couple times which made us feel even more like we were living in Lipari. All around, amazing! Highly recommended.
Lovely house, clean and typical, Alferdo is very nice, good spot to discover lipari !
Great house on a great island and Alfredo made it all easy.
Le me start by saying Alfredo went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy, thanks, you were wonderful.
The villa was in an amazing spot set amongst vineyards and farmland, overlooking beautiful ocean. The villa was very clean and well renovated with lovely little touches throughout.
It did get very noisy when the wind picked up in the evening which meant a little less sleep than usual but we caught up in the hammock during the day. Wonderful getaway!
Alfredo is a generous and considerate host but also a professional. Others have called him a real estate agent but actually he runs a consulting business, with holiday rentals as a sideline. We had some communication issues on both sides before we arrived but Alfredo handled them extremely well.
He picked us up, helped me to hire a Vespa, and drove us to Casa Particular showing Denise the supermarket etc while I drove behind. Alfredo also picked us up on our last day to ferry our luggage to the port, the time of pick up changed as circumstances changed that day. Alfredo was nice, knowledgeable and as helpful as he could be.
We stayed a week and it was one of the most fantastic places we've been. A relaxing paradise. But you do need transport! And it is not really a place to stay 2 or 3 days, you are just getting used to it when you have to leave.
It was out of season but the weather was good except for the last two days when high winds cancelled our Napoli ferry and we were not sure we could get off the island on the day we wanted to. Alfredo was very helpful by his advice and being flexible.
We were originally reluctant about Casa Particular because of its isolation. Lipari is more a holiday rental than a B&B market and certainly when we arrived at Casa Particular it took us a couple of days to get settled. There was nothing there but a bottle of water and some leavings from other guests, so that a supermaket and stocking visit are essential. We also took some time adjusting to the dwelling.
But the views and the location were magnificent and the house is unique. Lipari is a wonderful island and it was good to be away from Lipari Town. Pianoconte village and the locals were pleasant. La Machina is a good restaurant where we ate once (only open for us Fri-Sun). The local pizza run by a lovely couple is as good pizza as we had anywhere in Italy. It was convenient and we went several time - mostly takeaway.
Thank you Alfredo you were very good to us. We'd love to come back to Lipari and Casa Particular, but it would be for at least two weeks.
the place is as magical as it looks!!! I had the most relaxing stay!! the little town where the house is located has everything you need and the main town of Lipari is not even 10 minutes away by car, with even more restaurants and shopping. the place is super sweet. It was one of the best vacations I ever had!!!
Totally beautiful place, view stunning, so remote and dreamy. Wish we had know how far it was to the ferry first as we would have rented a scooter when we arrived. So relaxed I could set up home there!
