This beautiful loft is very private and quiet. Closed cell foam insulation was used on the entire roof line as well as high-quality windows and skylights for maximum efficiency. Recently added very quiet and efficient "mini split" ductless heating and cooling system to make sure it is comfortable year round.
To maximize the view large picture windows in both bathroom and kitchen area were installed too. Above the rooftops on a hill the loft is private just by virtue of the location.
The central living area is 7 to 8 feet plus however some areas of the vaulted ceiling's in bedroom and living are lower.
For your convenience in the kitchen area you'll find a refrigerator, Hot Plate, small Convection oven, Microwave, Toaster, Coffee maker, large insulated French Press and Kurig w/coffee pods, and plenty of dish ware, glasses etc. (No stove per city homestay requirements unfortunately )
I began designing and building this modern studio Loft in my traditional 1927 craftsman home in 2006 and completed it in 2010.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do !

Neighborhood highlights

Things have really come alive in West Asheville since I bought my home in 2000'. It's been amazing to be a part of my neighborhood and community becoming more diverse and eclectic. Most of the homes in this area like mine date back to the late 1920's.

I love to travel and soak up as much local culture as I can wherever I go, so I decided to share my home with people like you that share this passion. I grew up in Atlanta and discovered Asheville by way of Maui. I lived on Maui and Kauai for a few years and when it came time to move back closer to family a Maui friend suggested Asheville as an alternative to the big city. He’d grown up in Chapel Hill and in Asheville. So, after enough culture shock back in Atlanta I decided to explore Asheville in the late 90’s. After being here for a week or so wuth my Boxer Buddy I knew I'd found our new home. I'd also developed a love of old houses growing up in Atlanta so bought this 1927 bungalow from a friend in 2000. In 2006 I decided to create a new space with a view. Only by cleaning my gutters did I notice what a great view to the west there was from a slightly higher perspective. So, I designed and built the “Treetop Loft” and lived up there for many years and rented the downstairs long term. I now love sharing this space and hearing feedback I get about the design, the light and feel of the space. I'm also artist and one of the reasons I moved back downstairs is to have more wall space for the larger paintings I'd missed. I’m an avid motorcyclist, lover of the outdoors and great beer so Asheville has been the perfect home for a long time now! I do hope you enjoy Asheville as much as I do !
