The property, amenities, and staff at the Arjuna private villa are some of the best in Ubud. This was our first accommodation during our time in Bali. We kept looking at other properties and none of them had the value and location of Arjuna. The villa itself was large and perfect for a couple. Plenty of outdoor space and plenty of air conditioned area as well for sleeping. The property as a whole is so beautiful, with more pools, a stream, and activity areas. To those who have not been to Ubud, this property is located in the neighborhood of Nyuh Kuning. It is a great local neighborhood and street, away from the hustle and bustle of central Ubud but only a safe 10 min walk away as well - basically where you would want to live if you moved here. This means that it is very quiet and private but with easy access to all things Ubud. There is a great restaurant down the street called Sage which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff are amazing: friendly, courteous, and resourceful (going as far as having our scooter tire repaired while we lounged at the pool). We cannot say enough good things about this Airbnb.

This is my second time staying at Villa Beji Indah within the same trip, so my love for this place is clear. I've stayed at a half dozen different villas, hotels and b&b's around Ubud over the years, and Beji Indah is my favorite by far. The grounds are stunning. The photos of the rooms don't quite capture the magic that they are set within. Imagine a well-manicured maze of pathways set over koi ponds, across pools, and along the river front with a stunning undeveloped jungle view across the rushing water. The staff at Indah is kind and gentle while also pro and available to assist with anything a traveler might need. I was working on a design project while there, and the staff was respectful of my need for focus and quiet. The team feels more like family than staff. The rooms themselves are larger and more dynamic than the photos show. I might make some slightly different design choices, but as a designer, I think that wherever I go. The private pool in the Arjuna suite where I stayed most recently is larger than I expected. It's a great suite for a family or anyone who is looking for a deluxe space. As Ubud grows in popularity I've found the quality of lodgings decreasing while the price increases (often dramatically.) Beji Indah is the opposite of that trend. I think the reason is the estate is built with heart, not originally intended for hospitality. I'll be staying there again.

This was one of the most wonderful, amazing and fairy-like places we ever stayed. The beautiful gardens, the perfect location, the quietness from chaotic Ubud, the amazing infinity pools and the super kind staff makes us definitely want to come back some day. We want to thank you all so much for a couple of dream days in your villa's, Pelani and staff. See you in the future!

The most fantastic stay - it's private, beautifully designed in a traditional style. The staff are incredibly helpful and kind. I couldn't recommend it more. Thank you

We had a fabulous time at Villa Indah: our villa was great, but the best was the private pool, set in a very nice garden with a pavilion where we had our breakfast served. The staff was friendly and helpful. The resort is a bit of a walk from the center of Ubud, but set in a very quite tropical forest along a small river.

Gorgeous and relaxing. A 15 or 20-minute walk to endless dining and hanging out in Ubud.

Villa Beji Indah User ProfileVilla Beji Indah is a superhost.

This is the home and garden of Dr Steve Wignall. The property is called Villa Beji Indah. We are located very close to the center of Ubud, next to the Monkey Forest and in a picturesque village called Nyuh Kuning.

There are 18 staff who are all from Ubud and therefore exude the same charm and friendliness that is unique to this Island of the Gods.

Steve is a leading public health expert and activist having spent the last 30 years working with the Clinton Foundation, Family Health International and the Indonesian Ministry of Health. He has a foundation (a non- profit organization) that provides access to HIV testing and treatment for communities across Indonesia, including Bali. This is a man with a very large heart!
After graduating in the 1960s and a 21 year stint as a US Navy doctor he began work in Indonesia. His experience and close relationship to Indonesia, from Papua to Sumatra, is reflected in his eclectic home set in sprawling gardens featuring a 25 meter lap pool, plunge pools, a spa overlooking the river and garden pavilions.

A significant portions of the profits from Villa Beji Indah supports Yayasan Bali Peduli, an HIV NGO founded by Dr.Wignall to provide treatment for people living with the virus. Todate there are 700 people who receive regular services at the 2 clinics run by this foundation.

Our guests have often called this placed 'magical', 'peaceful' and 'amazing'. They have also told us that the pictures don't do any justice to the natural beauty of the actual site.

There are 10 unique suites (in 3 separate villas) on this beautiful property which runs along a lush river valley/ravine. We can house a maximum of 25adults.

It is therefore perfect if you are planning anything from a wedding, a special birthday party, a company retreat, a yoga retreat or family reunions.

This place is rented out as single rooms or as small villas (each of the 3 villas can accommodate about 5 - 10 people.

You can also rent the entire villa if you are planning a big event such as a wedding or retreat.

The village of Nyuhkuning is one of the most interesting hamlets in Ubud, noted for it's community civic awareness. It is home to Bumi Sehat Foundation run by famed midwife Robin Lim (CNN hero of the year) and also to the Bali Peduli Foundation (started by Steve and his colleagues) which focuses on HIV prevention, detection and friendly and accessible treatment. There are numerous small cafes and restaurants on the small road leading to Ubud's popular Monkey Forest which is a pleasant stroll away from the estate.

This is certainly the kind of magical place one needs to unwind, de-stress and refresh.

The property is currently managed by Steve's friend Yulia and staff members Aniek and Mitha. Depending on the time of your message, you will get an response from either one of us.

Well, if you want anymore information please let us know.
We hope to see you at this beautiful spot!

(Please note that the entire estate is a no smoking area. Also we are in the tropics, almost in a forest next to a river - so do expect to hear the symphony of birds and frogs along with geckos and butterflies. If you are not a nature loving person, this property is probably not suitable for you. If you love nature, this is a paradise)
