Casa Pelican B&B and Cooking School is a historic home nestled in the quaint and quiet neighborhood of Algiers Point, directly across the Mississippi from the French Quarter. You're just a short ferry ride away from all the action, but staying in a quiet and safe neighborhood for sleeping and relaxing.

A hot, fresh breakfast is offered each morning

*Cats live on the premises....please note this if you have allergies*

The space
The Casa Pelican Suite is a bright, spacious private bedroom with French doors opening onto a sitting room and full, en suite bathroom. It is furnished with a Queen sized bed, fold down couch, rocking chair and occasional chairs for relaxing, socializing or watching TV.

Guest access
Our home is your home when you stay with us. You'll be provided with a key to the front door and there are no curfews. Just try to be a little quiet if you're coming back very, very late (which isn't unusual in New Orleans!). One important thing to note is that we have pets (a small dog and one indoor/outdoor cat). Those with allergies should be aware of this...although none of the animals are ever allowed in our rented room.

During your stay
New Orleans has so much to explore, so we don't expect our guests to hang around too much...although it has certainly been known to happen. We love to have breakfast with our guests on weekends and make sure they get whatever tourist guidance we can offer. Most of all, we want everyone who visits us to leave feeling like they can't wait to return to our wonderful city!

Other things to note
Our home was built in 1880, and the staircase is original and therefore it's quite steep and narrow. This will definitely pose difficulties for guests with mobility issues.

Neighborhood highlights

Casa Pelican is located in the Algiers Point neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana, United States.
Algiers Point is the small, historic community (established in 1719) directly across the Mississippi river from the French Quarter. Largely residential, the architecture is classically New Orleans with Greek Revivals and Antebellums to adorable and brightly colored Shot Guns. It is extraordinarily quiet and safe, yet still boasts one of the city's best local pubs (with free, live music every night!) just 3 blocks away.
