Here are some interesting facts about the Brooklyn area! (Courtesy of Wikipedia)

Brooklyn is the most populous of New York City's five boroughs, with nearly 2.6 million residents, and the second-largest in area. Since 1896, Brooklyn has had the same boundaries as Kings County, which is now the most populous county in New York State and the second-most densely populated county in the United States, after New York County (Manhattan).[2] It is also the westernmost county on Long Island.

  • We loved everything about Bertie and Julian's beautiful home in Park Slope. We had traveled from New Zealand with our 3 young boys aged 9, 6 & 5 and stayed at this apartment for 7 nights holiday. It was perfect in every way. 3 good sized bedrooms, 3 living spaces and an amazing kitchen, the photos are exactly what you get plus so much more.Julian's artwork is stunning. We would of loved to have taken one home!!! We really enjoyed sitting out in the garden in the morning with a coffee and then at night with a well deserved wine or beer. It felt so homely and welcoming after a days sightseeing which made our first airbnb experience just wonderful.
Location was very important to us with our 3 boys as we didn't have a car so being close to subways and restaurants was a must. We walked to the subway everyday which was 5-7mins away which took us straight into Manhattan, it was very easy. The restaurants in Park Slope were great and plentiful, only 2mins walk to 7th Ave and maybe 5mins to 5thAve (great shopping & restaurants) we spent a lot of time at Prospect Park too which is just beautiful, it took us 10 mins (if not less) to walk here, so the location was perfect. We loved being in Brooklyn away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan especially after a big day sightseeing, we would of loved to have explored it a little more.Hopefully my partner and I will come back and stay again, wouldn't hesitate in booking this superb home again.

  • Bertie's place was wonderful. It was very clean and had all of the amenities that we needed. It was in a perfect location steps to a lot of great restaurants and the trains. Bertie was very helpful and very easy to communicate with. Her place really helped make my wedding weekend truly special for my family. I couldn't recommend it highly enough! Thank you.

  • Our host Bertie's communication was great, we were able to get keys etc easily. She left a great list of suggestions for the area. There was a wonderful market and bagel shop a half block away. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable, and we felt safe in the neighborhood. We were visiting our son and wife and brand new grandchild who live several blocks away, so the location was perfect for our trip. We were able to get to the subway easily and took several walks in the beautiful Prospect Park. We definitely would love to stay in this wonderful apartment if we need 3 rooms again. We loved it!

  • Best apartment for my family in Brooklyn.
    Beautiful, clean and great host.
If I back to Brooklyn, I chose this apartment again.

I recommend this apartment for family travel in New York.

  • The apartment was exactly as pictured and promised. It is a very large, well appointed space in a lovely neighborhood and is child friendly. With two full baths, one on each floor, it was like having two apartments and made getting the whole family ready for the wedding we were attending very easy. There was frequent communication with the hosts before arriving so we didn't have any unanswered questions, and the person who gave us the keys and the tour of the apartment upon arrival was prompt and pleasant. House rules are simple and what someone would do in their own home, and the beds were comfortable. The hosts left their internet password, a list of restaurants in their neighborhood and suggestions for things to do. It was a wonderful experience and one we would do again.

  • We had a very good stay in Bertie’s apartment. It is a really nice and children-friendly apartment architecturally decorated with love to details and a lot of taste and located in a very good neighborhood with an excellent food shop very close and good restaurants and coffee shops. We did not meet Bertie or Julien in person, the contact via mobile and email was very nice, quick and we were perfectly informed at all times.

  • Bertie and Julien were superb hosts! They were both kind, welcoming and did everything they possibly could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Prior to our stay, I was invited to visit the apartment and check-out the neighborhood. Bertie also gave me the chance to collect the keys in advance, which made things a little easier.

The apartment is beautifully decorated and very spacious. Their garden is beautiful, and I was kindly given access to their barbecue for a truly authentic 4th July celebration! The apartment is within walking distance of two subway stations, which makes it easy to get to Williamsburg as well as most of Manhattan. However, you may not even need leave the neighborhood, as the apartment is situated in beautiful Park Slope, where you're never far from a plethora of restaurants, bars and grocery stores!

Overall, we all had a marvelous time and couldn't have asked for more!

  • Bertie and her family offer a gorgeous, spacious, clean and child-friendly (critical for us) apartment. They are super friendly and understanding and there are no complicated rules to adhere to. The place is situated (IMHO) in a wonderful part of Brooklyn. While the hectic North Slope gets more attention, the South Slope offers just as much but in a more peaceful setting. Bertie's place is just blocks away from the Park, a gigantic indoor gymnasium (that kept the kids running around during a frigid week) and steps away from probably the best coffee place in Brooklyn (De Luxe). Thanks for a great stay!!!

  • This huge and beautiful apartement was totally perfect for our needs. Lots of space (we were a company of five!), clean, good kitchen and located in a safe and calm neighborhood close to Prospect Park. And the small garden was really nice to spend time in the beautiful weather. Bertie was so kind, she left a lot of recommendations for things to do, good restaurants and other events. Our next visit to NY will probably include staying in Bertie's apartement. I would recommend this apartment with no hesitations.

  • The apartment was great! In a perfect location and totally suited our needs. Bertie wasn't there - but the communication was perfect and Marcela who opened the door for us was extremely nice and available for any questions. Totally seamless. I would recommend this apartment with no hesitations and hope that we can return there on our next family trip to NYC.
