The space

Hello to all lovers of nature and authenticity, and welcome to Saintes Maries de la Mer, in the heart of the Camargue Regional Natural, to discover its beautiful nature! Rice fields, herds, edges of the Petit Rhône, fauna, flora, Mediterranean shores nearby (10 kms).
Leslie (an american woman from the Maine) says about my home: My host, Brigitte, could not have been more welcoming! There was a mix up m in buses from Arles, caused by the tourist office. Calls back and forth. Brigitte had to go to the bus stop twice. I arrived, tired and hot and exhausted. She instead on carrying my heavy suitcase, and brought me into my home for three nights. There was cooked ratatouille, a wonderful cherry dessert, fresh orange juice and yogurt and milk and cheese, and fresh eggs, in the fridge. Baguettes and homemade bread. Far too much to eat for my too short stay. Even after having to drive back and forth, and worrying aboutbhervEnglish, which is good she was full of smiles and thoughtfulness.
Even the famous Camargue mosquitoes are almost non existent in Brigitte's house! A wonderful bedroom, with two windows (screened), living and dining room with art and books, and a decent radio, a kitchen that lacked for nothing except my kitchen skills! Fully stocked. The bathroom worked! The shower was hot and the water pressure good. All the plumbing worked well, which is a great difference from home. Everywhere in the place is artwork and books, and treasures! What a delight! Flowers everywhere you look. Two wonderful golden labs, a few outdoor cars, dud I mention the flowers? The bed was comfortable, the space interesting and I really did not want to leave ! I had no car, and she arranged her schedule to be able to drive me to two Camargue towns so I could experience this wonderful world. She was within walking distance of a wonderful horse back riding place, and I was able to fit two rides in while also fitting into Brigitte's schedule. Even a walk along Le Petit Rhone with her daughter and grand daughter was a delight."

"Brigitte was an exceptional hostess--I recommend her and her lovely cottage wholeheartedly and without reservation. We checked in very late after delays on route and Brigitte was nevertheless on hand to welcome us and show us the house. She had a fire going in the fireplace and had set out a homemade quiche and a bottle of wine in case we were hungry. It was one of the warmest welcomes I've ever had. The house is very much as described--a really wonderful place to stay if you're looking for a quiet retreat in la Camargue. It is very conveniently situated to all the regional attractions and Brigitte has a wealth of material on hand, in various languages, to learn about activities in the area. She also lent us her bicycles which were in good condition and comfortable. In short--hot showers, comfortable bed, strong wifi, cozy space, beautiful location--it was enough to make you want to check out real estate in the neighborhood."

Brigitte was the perfect host. She showed and explained us everything we wanted to know about the Camargue. Her house is in a calm, beautiful place. The rooms were all clean and decorated in a very extraordinary style. Lots of good teas and other natural food were already given. Some wild cats were sometimes walking through the garden, very cute. Highly recommended!

A wonderful traditional stone house, that stays even in mid summer nice and cool. The area is perfect, it is very quite and a lovely surrounding for walks and bike rides. We loved the private garden we had to ourselves. The mosquitos were o.k. to handle, not more than we know from home. Brigitte is a wonderful host, that makes you feel welcomed. The fridge was well filled when we arrived, the kitchen is well equipped for real cooking- We never went out eating, we loved so much the cooking and the eating in the garden!! Brigitte knows about the little extras that make e big difference: An apero was ready when we arrived, several baguettes were in the freezer if one forgot to buy one... lots of books about the Camargue... its like home. Brigitte knows the Camargue very well and is very supportive if one needs help and local knowledge. We can truly recommend to stay at Brigitte and we would certainly do so if we would return to the Camargue!!

Brigitte's little cottage is very sweet and quirky and we found it to be very homely. The house is in the middle of quiet countryside where we enjoyed a walk by the river. In the evenings we sat in the private garden with a glass of wine, reading books and listening to the sound of the frogs in the nearby rice fields. Brigitte is a wonderful host, providing us with a fridge full of food, fresh fruit and a lovely bottle of rose. We didn't have a car (but highly recommend one), however Brigitte was more than happy to give us lifts which we felt very grateful for. We highly recommend Brigitte's cottage and would love to visit again, but next time we will make sure bring sensible shoes to enjoy horse riding just 5 minute walk down the road.
