  • First of all Carroll Gardens is a great place to stay and is the perfect antidote to the mayhem of Manhattan. We particularly enjoyed the Jolie Cantina and recommend the crab cakes wholeheartedly. As for the apartment it is well furnished but has one major drawback and that's the constant traffic notice from the very near expressway. For us the traffic noise meant we couldn't open the windows and consequently the apartment got very warm very quickly once the sun got out. For city dwellers this might not be a big deal but for us it necessitated earplugs (which are provided by Annette) which led to disturbed nights as they fall out at regular intervals. So if you want peace and quiet head further in towards smith street. If it doesn't bother you then house on Henry provides excellent value for money. I've left it as 4 stars as it's a 3 star apartment in a 5 star location but it's only the noise that marks the apartment down for me.

  • We had a great time staying in Brooklyn. We vacationed for a week and found the House on Henry a great place to rest our head after our days of sight seeing and power shopping. The location was perfect for us, a short walk to the subway and a short ride into the city. Check in and out was a breeze and Annette was gracious enough to stay up late for us as we were flying from the west coast and had a later flight. Definitely would stay there again and recommend to friends and family. In fact, I already have!

  • Annette was great, very responsive. My in-laws spent a couple of days at her place and were extremely happy. Overall it was a great experience, and we highly recommend Annette.

  • We were visiting our daughter and our granddaughters who live a few blocks away. We have stayed in a small apartment a few doors from Annette a few years back when my daughter had a health issue. So we have a good comparison. Annette's place is wonderful! Completely refurbished, spacious, etc., etc.
    Since we visit our team a few times every year, we will look no further for a place to stay and hope that this place is available. The price is also very reasonable. Comparable or lower than two awful hotels in the area.

  • Hi;

    We had a wonderful stay here. Everything was easy, clean, and very friendly. Great location for walking and for subway. Lot's of wonderful restaurants in the neighborhood. The area is safe and very trendy, which makes for a fun visit.

    Bed was wonderfully comfortable, internet was easy, kitchen was perfect, and the bathroom very nice. There is a narrow staircase up to the apartment. This was not an issue for us, but if stairs are an issue this could be a problem.

    I would recommend Annette and her place any day.

  • My last visit to NYC with my father was during the very cold winter of 1996 and on that occasion we stayed at a hotel near Times Square. We have just returned from an 8 night stay at Annette's very comfortable Henry Street apartment. All details listed on Airbnb about the apartment are absolutely correct and fulfilled our expectations.

    Her third floor apartment was fabulously furnished with every amenity at hand. Brooklyn is an ideal location from which to explore this dynamic and exciting city. The apartment is only a few minutes walk to Carroll Street subway which connects to all the classic tourist spots in Manhattan within 15 minutes as well as emerging areas like Williamsburg which have some great record stores for the vinyl enthusiasts among you.

    The immediate neighbourhood offers an amazing choice of bars, restaurants and convenience stores. Bar Bruno and Bar Great Harry were two of our favourites. Henry Street is, without doubt, a great place to stay.

  • Annette's place was great! This was our first experience with Airbnb and we were not disappointed. Annette was very responsive. We drove to New York City and arrived later than expected but Annette was very helpful and had a key waiting for us. The apartment is just like the pictures! Everything was very clean and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. We were able to find street parking in the neighborhood and later found a spot right across from the apartment which was super convenient. Although we had our car we chose to take the subway to get around town as it was just a short five minute walk from Annette's. It was an easy commute into Manhattan from Carroll Garden. We loved the neighborhood!! It is quaint and has many shops and restaurants. We felt very safe walking about at night and spent our evenings exploring Carroll Garden and Cobble Hill. We recommend Annette's!

  • Great location, comfortable accommodations! This was our first experience with airBnB and it was great. The space is exactly as advertised. It was good as a home base for visiting the city and seeing friends, plus it's close to so many great restaurants, shops and bars. We also felt comfortable just relaxing there in the evening when we didn't feel like going out. Next time we're in NYC we plan to stay here again.
