Casa Colibri - Beautiful House

House - Entire home/apt · Avenida Sur, Antigua Guatemala, Sacatepequez, Guatemala

The Space

Antigua Guatemala is a city in the central highlands of Guatemala famous for its well-preserved Spanish Mudéjar-influenced Baroque architecture as well as a number of spectacular ruins of colonial churches. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Due to its popularity amongst tourists and its very well developed tourism infrastructure, Antigua Guatemala is often used as a central location in which many choose to set up base and from here, visit other tourist areas in Guatemala and Central America. Cruise ships that dock at Guatemalan ports offer trips to Antigua from both the Pacific and Atlantic.

We offer a unique property within the city limits of Antigua Guatemala. The House is within walking distance from the Central Plaza and all the main attractions. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe.

It has 4 bedrooms: 1 master bedroom with king size bed and private bathroom with bathtub, 2 bedrooms with each 2 single beds sharing one bathroom and 1 bedroom with one single bed and private bathroom. 1 living room with fireplace, kitchen, a beautiful pergola in the garden, etc.

The rent includes housekeeping, gardening, security, satellite TV, wireless internet.

I want guests to feel at home and I'm happy to answer any questions or give advice on what to do in Antigua and in the area.

  • We were just a couple staying in this spacious, very well decorated, clean, comfortable home for 5 nights. We used Alessandra's recommended driver, Rolando, to meet us at the airport on arrival, then also for our day trip to Lake Atitlan and return trip to the airport. The service was excellent, the drivers only spoke Spanish. The home is about a 15 minute cobblestone walk from the central plaza. We enjoyed walking everywhere in town, be sure to have on good sturdy shoes. We walked to dinners at night and felt very safe up and down Ave. 5. We also brought dinner in a couple of nights. There are many great restaurants in the area, and quite reasonable. The master bed is very comfortable. The bathrooms all functioned perfectly with great water pressure. It is nice having a clothes washer and dryer there, so packing light is fine. The kitchen is well equipped with a full size refrigerator and stove. We loved having breakfast in the bright, lush courtyard, listening to the birds singing in the mornings. The gated area is very safe and extremely quiet. Pure drinking water is provided in the kitchen. There will be some mosquitoes at dusk, bring some repellent wipes if you can. Otherwise, spray is provided. Alessandra was very available by e mail, always responding quickly to my questions. The housekeeper came once during our stay to change linens and wash towels. A great place, a great city.....

  • We stayed at Casa Colibri for a month in Feb 2014. We had such a great time. The house is beautiful; clean, well appointed, great layout, antique colonial furnishings, soft lighting, heaps of candles and interesting objects. The house is about a 15 minute walk from the central square and is in a quiet, clean, safe neighbourhood. Alessandra was the perfect host - she bent over backwards to help us with travel arrangements, suggested restaurants, organised drivers for us and even arranged for someone to come in and cook for us a few nights every week. We had a perfect stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Casa Colibri to anybody. We'll be back for sure!

  • What a beautiful house. I was visiting Antigua with friends and family who all loved it. Very comfortable, lovely decor, wonderful artifacts, and easily accessible to central Antigua. We ate breakfast every day in the garden terrace.
Alessandra was extremely helpful with the booking and all our queries.

  • My parents and I spent a week in this amazing house. Every single decoration is a treasure that makes you wonder about its history. Yet at the same time, the house is very comfortable and we instantly felt "at home."

The house is in a newer residential development behind two security gates, so my parents felt perfectly safe and at ease taking a walk through the neighborhood. The house is just enough outside of the city center that we were glad we had a car to get us back and forth from town.

Just outside the first gate to the neighborhood is a terrific plant nursery and café with great meals and coffee.

The kitchen in the house if fully equipped. We ate most breakfasts and lunches at home since the house is so comfortable.

There is no shortage of inside and outside space so even a large group or family would feel there is room to spread out and enjoy time at home. The house is also very quiet.

Antigua can be a busy city with lots of tourists and traffic. It was nice to get out of the city and have a tranquil place to relax after a day of site-seeing.

    Simply...this house is perfect.

  • Very comfortable and clean house in a gated community about 15 minutes from the central plaza. The house is well-appointed with objects from the owner's shop (worth visiting!). The rooms are comfortable and quiet at night. Loved the view from the roof (no seating, currently). Kitchen and common areas are very nice. Fresh flowers awaiting us, which was a very nice addition. Recommended! A good value when you consider the cost of hotel rooms in the city.

  • Casa Colibri is a beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood of Antigua. Highly recommended for a group of friends or a family travelling to this area. Our hostess took care of everything we needed during our stay. We felt right at home from the very beginning.
