The exceptionally long caravan (9.5 metres) was built in the 1950s and is almost an ordinary home with three separate rooms (kitchen, lounge, bedroom). In addition, you have an extra bedroom thanks to the accompanying pipo cart. With the decor, we tried to restore as much style as possible to the original 1950s (including brocade napkins).

The space
The car is within 9.5 meters long, 2.4 meters wide and has three compartments separated by original wood panels with etched and ground glass. The entrance is on the top side with a kitchenette (counter, refrigerator, 2-burner gas set) and dining area. Next up is a lounge with a sofa, armchair and a marble fireplace with wood-burning stove for chilly days. In the back of the car is the bedroom with a double bed (1.40-2.00m) and French doors. In the trailer originally should not be sanitary facilities. We chose to keep it that way. The consequence is that there is no running water in the kitchen! Next to the wagons is a water tap, a wooden shower cubicle (water heated by the sun) and a wooden toilet cubicle (flush with bucket of water; saves a lot of water consumption). If you come with more than two people, you can use the pipo trolley with a bed for two people (160-200 cm). For a family with three children, an extra bed of 140-70 cm can be made under the bed towns. The cars (we call it 'the caravan') are in our garden, also camping, but you can hardly call that with up to 12 families/ couples on a plot of 3 hectares. You have plenty of space and privacy around the cars and with your own terrace.

Where you’ll be

Landouzy-la-Ville, Picardy, France

We live in the Thiérache, a beautiful region just across the Belgian border, in the French Ardennes foothills. The landscape is green and rolling, meadows with hedges alternate with forest. There are many watercourses and a confusion of country roads with small villages that often have a castle church (église fortifiée). From April to October, flea markets (brocantes) are organised on Sundays and public holidays. In terms of culture, you should not miss Laon (kahtdraal) and Guise (castle and 'le familistère').
