This neighborhood is Perfect for exploring the area. It’s a quiet and friendly street lined by massive shade trees making it the most ideal walking condition to check out nearby shops.
Bardstown Road boasts a wide range of authentic cuisines and places to eat. Some favorites among locals are, Holy Grale, The Fat Lamb, La Que, Seviche, Wicks Pizza, Impellizaries Pizza, Migo, Ramses, and Sapporo Japanese grill and sushi. If you’re looking to stop for a quick drink, Ramses, Cafe of the World, is excellent and has light bites. Havana Rumba, Asiatique, and The Bristol are all excellent options. The Backdoor bar is a great local spot and has pool tables, and a nice collection of beers on tap and food as well.
There are tons of cute, eclectic shops and vintage boutiques, lining Bardstown Road and the neighboring streets. Baz and Bea, The Nitty Gritty, Le Rack Consignment, Pitaya, Clay & Cotton, Dot Fox and General Eccentric are just a few you want to check out while exploring the area.

If you’re looking for something a little more active during your stay, Cherokee Park, an expansive and beautiful park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who also designed Central Park in NYC, is near. It is known for its multitude of bike paths, trails for mountain biking, dog parks, yoga sessions and gazebo for summer cookouts. Willow Park is a short 2 block stroll and has a tot-lot kids love! Electric bike rental is available just 1 block away at Pedgo.

Louisville is booming with distilleries and breweries, popping up left and right!! Be sure to check out a few during your stay here. Gravely, is a quick car ride or bike ride down Bardstown Road, and offers a fantastic selection of local beers on tap, beer cocktails and food by Mayan Cafe

We have recently added luxurious body wash in the baths & coffee, creamer & snacks In the kitchens of our fabulous vacation rentals! James Wallace & Co. & happyspacellc is a local, small business. When you book with us, your $ supports the local economy. A portion of our profits go to support local charities, including the center for women and families and the local homeless coalition. When you stay with us you help the most vulnerable in Louisville. Our latest outreach program includes packing food totes for Louisville’s homeless population. We pass these out on our daily property visits. The more guest visits = more food for our homeless community. We also do drop offs of personal care items to the Healing Place of Louisville - The Healing Place was founded in 1989 as a homeless shelter and medical clinic for men (& currently women as well). Every day they provide food, clothing, and shelter at no cost to more than 600 clients seeking help for their addictions.
