Perfect for a long stay or few days
The flat is located in the city center, in the beautiful island of Ortigia, near the most important shops and the famous daily fish-market and the best restaurants.
The house is composed of three bed rooms, where 6 people can comfortable stay. Every room has heaters and air conditioning, every room has a wi-fi high speed internet connection.
There is also a crib for my little guests.
If you don't find here a vacancy, I own an other apartment close to this one, you can look for it on my profile.
My guests can use every part of my apartment, the kitchen is fully equipped (microwave, kettle, stove, oven, Hd-Tv, ETC...)
In my apartment you can stay on the little balconies and admire the Big Port (Porto-Grande) and The Small Port (Porto Piccolo), the house is on the last floor of an old historical building.
Interaction with Guests
I'll interact with my guests, if they want.. I like cooking Sicilian dishes and if you want we can go to the daily fish-fruit-vegetables-cheese market, I'll introduce you to the sellers of the daily market, and I'll give you some advices to live like an authentic Siracusano (Inhabitants of Siracusa) and we can organize an original Sicilian dinner.
The area is very quite and people living in the building are very characteristic inhabitants from the southern Italy.
My neighborhood is very authentic, the apartment is located in the historical centre, people living in the building are old nice people living here since they were born. They have always something to tell you about their life and they have lot of free time..In the morning you can listen to my best neighbor, Mr. Mazzarino, singing and listening old Italian songs.. I love him!
The public transport system in Sicily, is very lacking...so you need to rent a car.... but the best way to go around the City is by bike, but take care of car drivers... they are really crazy!!
If you want I can also organize a transfer from the airport.
If you are coming by airplane (destination airport: Catania or Palermo), the best way is to take a bus from Catania Airport to the railway station of Siracusa (last stop).
I recommend "INTERBUS" and "AST" bus companies, if needed, on their website you can check the timetable.
If you're coming by car you can park for free just below my apartment (it's really safe)
If you are coming by train, my house it's nearby the rail station.
If you want I can organize a visit on the Volcano Etna with a guide (a friend of mine)

Great spacious and clean apartment which had a lovely atmosphere and had everything we needed. Perfect location! Mario was a great host and provided some great restaurant recommendations. Wished we could have stayed longer - felt very much at home in his flat!
Appartement super et à proximité du centre touristique.
Accueil chaleureux de Mario et tout était prêt . regrettons seulement de ne pas avoir réservé une nuit supplémentaire.

Mario's flat is in a great location, being within walking distance to the old town and a bunch of great restaurants and bars. The flat is clean and is set up with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. If there is anything beyond this you require, Mario is readily available to help you out or give advice. Staying here was a great start to our Sicilian adventure.
Mario's apartment is wonderful and is exactly as described. It is 1 minute from the island of Ortigia, the depart of boat trips and delicious fritto misto and typical Sicilian food. Mario leaves a list of recommendations and we are at the nearest restaurant which was great. The fridge was stocked with wine, beer, fruit juice and of course water. Every thing you need and more. We will definitely return some day.
Mario nous a très bien accueilli en prenant le temps de répondre à nos questions et de nous expliquer brièvement les choses à faire dans la ville.
L’appartement est idéalement situé, juste au pied de la vielle ville.
We had a wonderful time in Syracuse and found Mario to be an excellent host and very helpful the apartment was perfect, a real home away from home 10 out of 10 easy parking and excellent location

About the Host, Mario
I love windsurfing, surfing and snowboarding...I'm working in Siracusa in a tax firm, after many years around Italy to become a lawyer I decided to return in Siracusa, for the weather and the sea. I often travel between Siracusa and Milan for work.
I can't stay without sea, I like travelling for windsurfing, know new people from all over the world.
My favourite place is Morocco, Essaouira, I don't know why...
My ideal trip is by a sailing boat around the Greek Islands. My best food are all Sicilian dishes, I love eating fresh fish cooked by my mother...and the "arancine " from the best place in Siracusa by "bar Midolo" close to my house in SIracusa...you have to taste it!!!
My favourite quotation is: “Never to go on trips with anyone you do not love.” (Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast)
