Overall it was a great stay with a few minor issues that were worked out. The suites are beautiful with tons of space (pictures don't do it justice). The view over the infinity pool and ocean is amazing! Little things that were inconvenient kept adding up ie no dish/tea towels in kitchen provided. No bottled water or toilet paper provided, etc. Once we were in contact with Carolina things ran smoother but she wasn't there on itial check in. Overall we enjoyed our time at this beautiful place! Thanks so much Matt and Melisa!
It was an amazing experience. The apt was awesome and I would stay here again when I go back to PV :)
We arrived in Mexico and easily enough found our way to Matt and Melissa's condo. It was super easy to get there from the airport and all the cab drivers knew where the place was. We had 2 couples stay and it was the perfect size for all of us. We were able to buy all of our own food and cook which saved us a lot of money. The room itself was very nice and the staff at the resort was really friendly. One thing people should know is that this is a time share property so be prepared to get accosted at check in about taking a "tour". We were easily able to avoid any of that and make our way to the room. The pool is amazing and has one of the best in pool bars I have ever been in.
We relaxed as soon as we arrived and after quick showers jumped into the infinity pool to cool off! The area of Nuevo Vallarta is nice, clean, and much improved since we were last there six years ago. We also understand the water from the taps is safe to drink now in the resorts along this section of the beach which certainly makes things a *lot* easier when you are with three small children :)
The apartment is very well kept and has incredible views of the pool area and the sea. We saw the most beautiful sunsets, including one with the elusive green flash.
We had a great time! This place was clean & spacious...totally recommend it!
The little things add up.
We experienced many little disappointments that added up to make me and my husband feel unhappy with our stay here. Each little thing seemed like not too big a deal, but they just kept adding up.
The bedding on the master bed was probably the worst I have ever experienced at a hotel; for 2 of the 3 nights of our stay, we had only one flat sheet and one thin blanket on the master bed. Seriously, that's it. There was not one extra sheet or blanket anywhere in the units. Management did nothing to help until we finally asked a third time for an extra sheet and mattress pad, via Matt and Melisa in the states, and with a photo of the bed texted to the owners. At that point, the manager finally came to the room with one more flat sheet, saying that's all she could do. She said they never put mattress pads or covers on the mattresses, or use fitted sheets. Since she was there, we showed her:
The little hotel toiletries had obviously been recycled without being cleaned and had dried white gunk on the bottom, the basket they were in was grimy.
The outside table was full of dried coffee spills and mug rings from previous guests.
Only one of the three patio doors had a screen and it was totally dilapidated.
Management did nothing to remedy the grime, but came back later to take away the broken screen. When they came to take it away, they didn't knock and walked in on us changing. They never brought replacement screens.
Beyond room issues, the food and drinks at the pool/bar/restaurant were very bad quality compared to the resorts next door, but just as pricy.
This is not an exaggeration; we heard ABBA's "Dancing Queen" at least 20 times in 3 days because they kept playing it and about 4 other songs over and over by the pool (we stopped counting at 20 times). When it wasn't very loud ABBA, it was really annoying Bingo, really loud during the day. Loud music two of the nights until 2am.
The unit is incredibly spacious and has a great view, located on a clean stretch of beach used by resort goers. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the pool was immaculately clean. The breakfast buffet was expensive but very good and the breakfast staff were terrific.
Hi Talia: Thank you for feedback. We are truly sorry that your stay was not 100%. Something broke down with the service that we depend on to get the unit ready. We have since taken direct action and added backup support to make sure these type of things do not happen again.
We are also taking action to upgrade the screens, TVs, linens, and the kitchen utensils based on your feedback.
Regarding the noise...We are discussing with property management to limit the pool deck activity and set time cut off in the evening....
The restaurants we cannot change....We always explore and eat off site because there are so many good local options that are genuine and quite affordable. Going forward we will send all our guests a list of our recommendations.
Matt & Melissa's BelAir getaway was the perfect blend of luxury and home feel. Matt was on the ball and always available with anything we needed. From great resteraunts to suggested tours, Matts online guide to the property and the area was fantastic. Things to remember: PACK BUG SPRAY if you plan on doing a tequila tour! You can't see the pesky little creatures that bite but you sure will see them leave a mark and they itch like crazy! If you can drive do it but learn that it is a little different. Don't speed you will get pulled over. Enjoy the nightlife in Downton PV. Walk walk walk there's so much to see!
( non intentional rhyme;))
So enjoy yourselves at the BelAir because Matt and Melissa have the perfect spot, and yes we are coming back.

Hi. Thanks for visiting our airbnb post. We love travelling to new destinations like Brazil, Japan, China, Europe, and all over the United States trying new restaurants, swimming, skiing, playing golf, and exploring. One of our favorite places to visit is Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. We hope you will stay at our place and enjoy it as much as we do.
If you want to share your vacation with a large family or with friends we have three, two bedroom units all in the same resort. We can certainly rent them all at once.
Work hard, Play hard. Enjoy! Matt & Melisa
