Interaction with Guests
Sometimes we never see our guests but we are usually available if needed since Beth works from home. Our office is on the third floor so we may not hear the doorbell so call or text to alert us.
Quiet tree-lined streets between a forested foot-path and Agnes Scott. Oakhurst and Decatur are a short walk away.
Bus stop at the end of the street and a 15 minute walk to the Train Station.
No smoking. Be respectful about noise as this is a residential neighborhood.
Very convenient, well organized 1BR easy walking distance to Agnes Scott(10min) and downtown Decatur(20min). Hostess is quick to respond and very helpful. Coffee, small refrigerator and utensils provided. Plan to eat out, but several nice places downtown. We enjoyed Thumbs-up for breakfast on Ponce-de-Leon. Southern Revival is super convenient just across railroad track on Church Street but food was so-so and they were very pushy. Great to have washing machine with dryer, this saved us in hot and humid August.
Suite spot was a wonderful place to stay. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was perfectly located for my visit and it will be my first choice of places to stay on my next visit.
As many have already claimed, the location is amazing! If the weather was not so hot and humid I would have walked more. The house is lovely and charming. Yes you can hear the host and their dogs, especially going up and down the stairs. The 'kitchenette' is basic, toaster oven, microwave and mini fridge (which wobbled). It is a clever use of a closet space however. The size of the suite was perfect and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch during a rainstorm. As suggested by Airbnb I contacted the host in advance of the visit to confirm and it took a while before she responded. The bathroom itself was fine, but it looked as though it was either mid-decor and repair work or possibly it was just in a poor state. Mixed matched paint on the wall, crumbly floor tiles, bath tiled and surround needing repair and grout, missing light bulb, etc. The other 'issue' was both radios made available did not really work and there was quite a bit of dust on them. That said, the house itself was clean and very comfortable. Despite the comments above, overall I really enjoyed the space and it was definitely above using a dull and boring hotel. Thank you Elizabeth!! Oh, one final niggly thing- many people commented on the lovely snacks that were left for them including juice- unfortunately, I was only left with a few bottles of water.
Thanks Stacey for the helpful comments. Radio has been changed and feet for mini-fridge cabinet are on the way. As you noticed the last couple of years have taken its toll on the bathroom. I'm afraid you caught it halfway remodeled and the last stage commence on Aug 22nd when we blocked space! The new bathroom should be amazing, I'm so excited!
I'm sorry if you were expecting snack, I stopped providing food since very few took advantage and more food expired than was used.
Thank you for a lovely weekend back home in Decatur. We enjoyed the huge comfy bed and rain water shower! It was just what we needed to come back to after a super busy packed weekend.
Charming atmosphere in a beautiful part of town. Elizabeth and her family were wonderful hosts!
I am familiar with the area as my daughter lives near by. The house was as I expected and had amenities we needed for our stay. Elizabeth responded to my questions quickly but actually there was information already there which gave me most of the answers I needed. Our stay was pleasant and we would stay there again.
We had a wonderful stay at the Suite Spot in Decatur, GA. It was a charming location and the suite was so comfortable and homey in a beautiful neighborhood. I am so glad the hotel was booked and our daughter found us this place for a fraction of the cost. I will never stay in a hotel again when I visit her.
