Interaction with Guests
Sometimes we never see our guests but we are usually available if needed since we work from home. Our office is on the third floor so we may not hear the doorbell so call or text to alert us.
Quiet tree-lined streets between a forested foot-path and Agnes Scott. Oakhurst and Decatur are a short walk away.
Bus stop at the end of the street and a 15 minute walk to the Train Station.
No smoking. Be respectful about noise as this is a residential neighborhood.
Very sweet suite, much as described. Effortless arrival. Very comfortable bed. The most soothing and sweet wind chimes I have ever heard. Interesting decor. It was a bit chilly despite a space heater and electric fireplace but I was not sufficiently concerned to contact the host about it.
We had a very pleasant stay in Elizabeth's clean, relaxing quarters. We truly appreciated the comfort of the bed after our busy days house hunting with family in Atlanta. The space is cozy, which was a plus during the cold winter days we were there. Don't expect to do much actual cooking in the limited kitchenette, but do enjoy the nice selection of teas and the Keurig coffee maker. The convenience of walking to restaurants and the peaceful neighborhood were pluses. We look forward to visiting again.
We were already familiar with the neighborhood and it was a perfect location for our stay. The accommodations were as described and very charming. We didn't get to chat with Elizabeth, but texting worked well. We are hoping we can stay there again when we are next in town.
Lovely place to stay in Decatur! Easy in-and-out access, parking along the street and walking distance from cafés, bars and shops. Look forward to returning when we can!
We had a great stay and Elizabeth was very responsive if we ever had questions.
Even though we did not have the opportunity to meet Elizabeth face-to-face, we still felt very welcome by our "silent host." It was a perfectly cozy spot that made us feel at home immediately. Everything was just as described, but what could not be conveyed in the description were the many little touches that gave us so much pleasure and ideas for our own living space. One could feel the thoughtfulness and care that Elizabeth put into making our stay memorable. Elizabeth provided us with sticky notes that helped us find switches, instructions on how to operate the heaters, access the TV and internet, tons of games for all ages and interests, a variety of coffees and teas, a thoughtful and convenient dispenser in the shower for shampoo, conditioner, body wash, an ample supply of towels and washcloths, an electric fireplace to add warmth and coziness on damp, chilly evenings, etc. We smiled often at the clever and tasteful use of small spaces, such as converting a small closet into a useful kitchen and a small eating table that could fold out of the way when not needed.
We have often visited my sons in Decatur and enjoyed its unique atmosphere, but staying with Elizabeth on Davis Street allowed us to feel a part of the neighborhood. A drizzly morning walk through the campus of Agnes Scott ending with a cozy breakfast at Java Monkey is something that will live in our memories for a long time to come.
We look forward to staying on Davis Street again.
The home on S. Davis was a cute and clean cottage like part of the large house. The porch was not so available to us due to the cold December weather but in most months it would be a very nice place to hang out and enjoy the tranquil neighborhood. We would not say it is a place to plan on cooking much more than a simple few items. (The coffee machine was hit though!) Yet one is in easy reach to plenty of the places to visit in Decatur and Atlanta in general. It was clean, well stocked and quiet as well. The bedroom was quite nice for rest. We would return knowing the minor limits of the kitchen as we were more about exploring than staying in. Our hosts were attentive to our needs as well.
