Neighborhood highlights

Roseway is a centrally located neighborhood in the Northeast quadrant of the city. Enjoy a walk around the neighborhood, including the Rose City Golf Course and views of Mt. Hood from the bluff on NE Sacramento Street. The golf course has a rich history. As the story goes, the land it stands on was the first landing field for airplanes in the vicinity. Enjoy dinner at Pizzeria Otto. If you really want to get the flavor of yesteryear, stop by Fairley's pharmacy, home of one of the last functioning soda fountains in the state. Locally owned and operated since 1913, it is like taking a step back in time with a large selection of malts, shakes, espresso, and phosphate sodas.

Just 20 blocks away is the Hollywood District, where you will find Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, 24-hour fitness, and the historic landmark Hollywood Theater. The theater is now owned by a non-profit that celebrates film as art, featuring 16mm & 35 mm screenings, and recently brought back 70mm format. The Hollywood Theater is currently the only Oregon venue able to screen 70mm. Advanced ticket purchases are recommended.

About a mile is NE Fremont Street, with a wide selection of bakeries, restaurants, breweries, wine bars, and famous Pip's Doughnuts specializing in made-to-order mini-donuts! Continue down Fremont, and you will intersect with hip Williams Corridor (3.5 miles from my location) and Mississippi District ( 4 miles from my location), or veer slightly north. You will be in the heart of the Alberta Arts District, which is 2.5 miles from mine.

Sandy Blvd is a major arterial that will quickly get you to Southeast (Hawthorne & Division streets) or downtown Portland.

Lives in Portland, Oregon
I moved to Portland after graduating from U of O in 1995 and have been living in NE Portland ever since. By far my favorite quadrant of the city, I enjoy what everyone in Portland enjoys....great coffee and waiting in line for an hour for brunch! I also love hiking in the gorge and trying new restaurants with my friends. I am a Realtor, by trade since 2005, which doesn't allow a ton of time for the above mentioned but I love helping people and I am always honored to be the advocate for such important transitions in clients lives.
