This roomy rustic home is perfect for a relaxing family vacation in the mountains. Nestled in the woods and overlooking a serene private lake, this spacious 6 bedroom home offers lake swimming, fishing, incredible dark skies for stargazers, two screen porches & a large kitchen/dining area. Minutes away from many hiking trails, waterfalls (22), Stumphouse Mt. Tunnel, Chattooga Belle Farm, & whitewater rafting. Less than 45 minutes to Clemson & Highlands, NC. Do as little or as much as you want!

The space
The house is three floors, perched on a hill overlooking the lake. The main entrance is the second floor, where you'll enter the kitchen (from the carport), dining, main screen porch, a common full bath and two bedrooms (one queen master with access to the porch and a private bathroom, and one with twin beds). Upstairs are four additional bedrooms, including a master with a half bath, and one additional common full bath. Downstairs is a large common area with fireplace, kitchenette, extra full-sized refrigerator, ping pong table, games & additional screen porch. The fireplace is particularly cozy in the morning and at night when there's just a little nip in the mountain air. Down the gentle slope is direct access to the lake, with a dock perfect for fishing or soaking up the sun as well as a canoe, jon boat and kayak for your use. **NOTE** Our lake is a private lake and the ONLY boats allowed on the lake are those that are owned by the lake home owners.

In 2018-19 new appliances and flooring added in kitchen, dining, and downstairs, plus entire interior was freshly painted. NEW AC/Heat system added in June 2019 in time for summer and Clemson football games in the fall. Most recently added new, larger water heater & septic tank in 2020 plus a new range, new pump & new porch furniture in 2021, and a remodeled main bathroom in 2022.

Neighbors are around the lake but not next door. Sound does carry across the lake, so we ask that you are neighborly and respect quiet hours from 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Our home was built in 1954 by our grandfather and has been a family retreat for five generations.
