My sunny '70s 2 bedroom cabin with exposed redwood cathedral beam ceilings has amazing canyon views. There's a hot tub and a small one bedroom outbuilding that's its own little getaway. It's in a very special neighborhood with really nice people.
My house was part of a special group of homes designed and built by a couple in the late '70s. Their thought and detail is seen everywhere in the house. It's not a big home, but it's designed to maximize space. Exposed redwood cathedral ceilings are in the living room and there are 2 bedrooms. A very large lower deck contains a hot tub, outdoor shower and a small cabin that has a bed. Truly a special getaway the owner has decided to let others enjoy. House truly is most comfortable with 4 adults max.
Guests will have access to hot tub and outdoor shower. Outdoor shower and running outside water may be off in the winter due to freezing pipes.
Interaction with Guests
I won't be around during the stay, but am available at all times. I can have as much interaction as necessary including the actual stay. I prefer to answer questions and help as much as I can.
The neighborhood is along a ridge top. The neighbors are quite close and look after each other. There's a yearly gathering of the neighbors for a covered dish event. Everyone is very respectful of noise and space.
There is parking for one car in the driveway- possibly 2 small cars. There's also street parking in front of the wine barrel planters.
Other Things to Note
It's a one mile walk to the river- head out on the 116 for a short walk to Odd Fellows Road and hang a right. There's a cool bridge and beach area. Continue across the bridge in the summer and you'll get to Korbel.
Pets are negotiable, no cats though. No smoking in the house. I'd prefer to not have smoking on the decks due to possible burns. I expect guests to not be loud at night outside past 9pm.
The house was tastefully decorated, and the beds comfortable. The deck is huge and features a large, clean hot tub. The deck faces a dense forest, which provides excellent privacy, though some noise can be heard from the surrounding neighbors. We had everything we needed for our girls' getaway weekend.
Hey Nicole, I'm glad y'all had a great getaway weekend! Sorry to hear that some of the neighbors were noisy. The only noise complaints I've received in the past have actually been from my neighbors about airbnb guests being loud at my house! The house is in a small rural neighborhood and not isolated in the wilderness so you may hear others from time to time. Thanks again!
Perfect choice. Beautiful surroundings. Loved it and hope to return. Thanks Bob!
Bob's house in Guerneville was great! I wish I could have spent more time relaxing on the deck. The decor of the house made me feel like I as that 70s baby all over again.
Bob's home in Guerneville is perfect for a quiet weekend getaway. Despite being only about an hour and a half away from SF, it felt like we were continents away. It was the perfect environment to relax from our busy lives. The space itself is very clean, comfortable, and incredibly well designed. Bob was exceptionally helpful and responsive, providing detailed instructions for everything in the house, including the lighting, hot tub, grill, television, and other appliances. The neighborhood is very dark and remote at night since it is so removed in the woods, but there are plenty of neighbors nearby so we felt completely safe the entire time. There were plenty of places to eat and grocery shop at in Guerneville and Forestville should you decide to leave the house. Bob also provides several restaurant recommendations in the guest book that one finds in the house. Also nearby is the fantastic Armstrong Woods Park, where we hiked for several hours per Bob's recommendation. All in all, it was a great way to spend a weekend.
We had a great time at Pullman House. Cozy and perfect for a couple.
Restaurant, hiking and winery recommendations were much appreciated!
Bob was a great host - he provided a detailed information book all about the house and local interests, and was very responsive to any of my questions. The home is beautiful and situated in the coastal redwood forest, complete with a hot tub for relaxing and enjoying the view. The house is fully equipped with a full kitchen, nice bedrooms, and bath. The neighborhood is very quiet and you have the feel of being in a secluded hideaway. Nearby is Guerneville, a small town with quaint shops and a convenient Safeway grocery for all of your needs. Of course, being so close to Sonoma Valley, there is plenty of wine tasting to be had! I would definitely stay here again, and hope to do so!
Bob's house is a truly perfect stay - from working with Bob, to the location, to the home itself. Bob was incredibly communicative all the way through the process. Super fast responses and very helpful. He also provided awesome, local suggestions of places and things to do. We did many of them and knew a couple were things only locals knew, which we loved.
Bob's home rocks! About 3 minutes from dwtn Guerneville, and so close to so many things. 5 minutes from Armstrong Woods - which is truly breathtaking, 10 minutes from a one michelin star restaurant, 10 minutes from many different kinds of awesome wineries, I could go on. The area, if you've not been, is like being in the most beautiful woods you could imagine. We just loved it.
The home is absolutely perfect for 4 people, although there were only 2 of us. It's such a cool home and so well designed. Eye candy all over. A great deck with a beautiful view. From our bathroom we were looking at these big, beautiful insane Redwoods...and they are all over the place. It's amazing. Our bed was super comfy and we slept really well. The jacuzzi is such a great perk as well. A quiet, kind neighborhood.

I'm a creative director and appreciate all of what Northern California has to offer. I've looked to find special architecturally interesting and significant homes as I love the period of architecture in the area from the mid to late '60s, as well as 1970s. My properties are thoughtfully decorated to the period they were designed, yet updated appropriately.
I've been collecting special mid-century furniture, objects and artwork. I'm also into vintage muscle cars. I'm on the board of an organization to document and help preserve buildings of the modern movement. I'm not a big TV watcher, but never tire of the classic TV sitcoms of the past. I don't do reality TV as I'd rather use the time reading about architecture or design! Or going outside.
I love traveling to Europe occasionally, as well as I'll always love Hawaii. I've been to all the islands but Kauai.
My place in Guerneville affords access to great local food, as well as some awesome wineries. I feel fortunate to be so close to such amazing places!
In my job and in my life, I'm very detail and goal-oriented. I hope you see that detail and care in both of my homes and enjoy your stay!
