My husband and I spent our first night of our vacation in the Temple Treehouse, it was the perfect start to our vacation. Tucked up high over sunset beach the best view of the ocean. We loved our stay, and would love to stay longer on our next visit.
the treehouse was awesome! the space is very well outfitted and comfortable, and the location right in sunset beach and down the street from ted's (one direction) and food trucks (other direction) was ideal. great ocean view! only wish we could've stayed longer.
This treehouse was the best place we stayed our entire trip - it was just incredibly cool.
You can hear the ocean all night and there's just enough trees and vegetation around to keep things private from the other treehouses/cabins.
The bed and furniture are extremely comfortable.
There's some sturdy mosquito netting around the perimeter of the treehouse, but we did have some sort of large-ish mammalian visitor during the night that broke into our food truck take-out - I'd recommend storing or throwing out any food before going to bed.
The whole vibe of the cabins/treehouses and John is really cool. It's expensive but completely worth it.
We stayed in two different luxury tree houses hosted by John and it was an amazing experience. Unbelievable views of the North Shore and fully equipped with amenities including wifi, which was very helpful as we had video conference calls we had to do and were able to right from the treehouse! John and his son are great people and I highly recommend staying here since they also have surf boards, boogie boards, paddle boards and beach cruisers to take out and enjoy the day.
Even though it was only for one night, this place was just the perfect get away for my hubby and I! Living in the heart of Waikiki right now, the peace and quiet of the treehouse temple was such a breath of fresh air, literally. Before we get PCS back to the mainland, I'll definitely be trying to fit another stay in here!
Make sure you are in good health though, there are a lot of steps up to here, but it's completely worth it.
The walk up the stairs is not for the faint of heart, but worth every step. Amazing atmosphere, and wonderful privacy. Loved every moment we were there.
We had a fabulous time in the treehouse as part of our American honeymoon. It is such a cool and different place to stay and amazing hearing the ocean and birds around us, especially going to sleep at night and waking up in the morning. We enjoyed having use of the snorkelling stuff, the bikes and paddle boards, though we were enjoying chilling so much we probably didn't use them as much as we could! We spent a lot of time relaxing on the deck or lounging on the comfy sofas, as well as eating treats and drinking coffee at ted's and other local outlets. Having the beach right opposite was fab as you could just walk there to see the sunset or have a paddle. John and crew were great and most welcoming and helpful. If we ever make it this far in this direction again we would most definitely return!
The treehouse was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. It is the perfect tranquil getaway on the north shore. We didn't get a chance to meet John, but he was very accommodating and lovely through email. Plus there is the sweetest dog that lives in the big house below. Thanks for the amazing stay!
What a beautiful place surrounded by nature. If you love playing in water, hiking and enjoying the sunset on your balcony, this is the right spot for you. Very close to famous and not even crowded sunset beach and very quiet (as just a tiny village).
Book early enough. As we didn't, we had to move from one bungalow (temple treehouse, very beautiful) to another (surfer cabin, has it's charm as well) as there where just this two nights left. It didn't bother us, as we discovered nice bungalows of different characters. But of course we would have preferred to unpack our staff and chill.
We just met the host at our arrival as he was away during the following day. He was very nice, welcoming and uncomplicated. His sun helped us out with our questions during his absence. He even provided us with bodyboards, that was fun. Thank you again! They even have snorkel gear if you need.
The Temple Treehouse was wonderful! The views were great--you can see the ocean from it:) Sunset beach is less than a five minute walk. John was a great host and let us borrow his equipment which we tried the body boards, which was fun. The two dogs Captain and Peter were very friendly as well:) Don't pass this one up if you want a truly unique experience!
