Come and stay in our beautifully restored 3 bedroom apartment in the historic centre of Lisbon! Now with mega-fast internet - 1Giga speed. 2 double bedrooms air-conditioned.
Full of traditional Portuguese charm, with elegant decorations and high ceilings throughout, it offers visitors a central and comfortable base to explore Lisbon.

The space
This beautiful large apartment (150 sq m) is located on the first floor of a historic, elegantly appointed building built circa 1880, with a lift and 3 balconies at the front. The rooms all have 3.5 metre ceilings, giving the place a sense of space and luxury. It is also packed full of original features - stucco ceilings, original windows, shutters and 150-year old Portuguese tiles. Recently renovated to modern high standards, it has all the comforts to make you feel at home after long days exploring Lisbon's charms.

The accommodation:

At the back of the apartment there are two air-conditioned double bedrooms. The third bedroom is located at the front and has one single bed . We have a travel cot for babies. Beds are fully equipped with hotel quality sheets and fresh towels are provided. The apartment can sleep a maximum of 5 people (plus potentially 1 baby), very comfortably.

There are 2 recently installed bathrooms: Bathroom 1 has a power shower, toilet and sink, bathroom 2 has bath with power shower, sink, bidet and toilet.

The very large living/dining room has balconies opening to the street which provide plenty of light. It has sofas, leather armchair, and a dining table seating 5 people. There is a library of English books, satellite TV (with international channels), a DVD player and music centre. The house has broadband wifi.

The large kitchen is very well equipped for cooking at home (perfect for families) and has a gas cooker, electric oven, microwave, nespresso coffee machine, washing machine and dryer. Off the kitchen there is a cool shady courtyard in the middle of building.

We have gas central heating throughout the apartment- an rarity in Lisbon! The place is elegantly furnished in traditional style with antique furniture, Persian carpets, hardwood parquet flooring, and Portuguese hydraulic mosaic tiles, but with modern touches. The 3.5 metre ceilings make the apartment feel incredibly spacious and grand, but the decor is comfortable and cosy.

Guest access
You rent the entire apartment. There is no free on street parking. (Metered during business hours, residents only overnight) There is also a pay car park 1 minutes walk away.

Where you’ll be

São Paulo, Lisbon
Food halls and late-night bars animate this riverside area, where Atlantic light brightens market halls, cafes, and old streets.

From the host

Located in the central area of Santos, the area has the best of both worlds. Being one of my oldest, wealthiest and best preserved parts of central Lisbon, the streets are full of grand palaces, old merchant's buildings, beautiful churches, and the residents are well-to-do locals or expats. On the other hand, this area is home to cutting edge design shops, trendy cafe's, the best neighborhood restaurants in Lisbon, and just a few blocks away from the newly renovated Mercado de Ribeira, the central market with scores of gourmet pop-up food stalls. You are perfectly positioned to explore Lisbon on foot - just 15 minutes to the central square Praca de Comercio ( with no hills to climb!), 5 minutes from the Museum of Art and Antiquities, and a few minutes walk from Cais de Sodre which has many fun bars and clubs. A walk, bus or tram ride along the river front takes you to Belem with its multiple tourist attractions. The nearest train station (Santos) is 3 minutes walk where you can take a 20 minute ride to the beaches in Cascais. The street itself is peaceful, safe and quiet. You can enjoy living like a local, but with all the tourist attractions on your doorstep!
