Social distancing can be fun! You'll see more deer, eagles and seals than people. You won't be in close contact with anyone the entire time you're here. All surfaces are thoroughly sanitized before you arrive. Secluded on the eastern shore of Oro Bay on Anderson Island, about 90 minutes from Seattle. Enjoy all the beauty the Puget Sound has to offer. Kayak, paddle board, beach comb. Experience some of the most amazing sunsets you'll ever see.

The space
This spacious and sunny 2,500 square foot beach home has everything you need to create memories to last a lifetime. There's lots of space to congregate with your friends and family and still have plenty of privacy when you want it.

There are two upstairs master bedroom suites. The South Suite has a king bed, vaulted ceilings, ceiling fan and ensuite with a jetted tub. The North Suite has a queen bed and a single daybed with an ensuite. Both bedroom suites have large flat screen TVs and private decks with spectacular ocean and island views. On the main level is a third bedroom with a queen sized bed. There is another full bath with washer and dryer also on the main level.
In the living room you'll find a leather sleeper sofa. The living room is great for congregating, enjoying the sunset or watching the 48" flat screen TV.

This is one of the very few Anderson Island homes with Wi-Fi.

The fully equipped kitchen, bar and dining area open to the huge entertainment deck where you'll find a hot tub (seats 5-6 comfortably), gas grill, gas fire table and a complete set of patio furniture so you can enjoy the spectacular view to the fullest. Just a few steps to the beach are 3 kayaks and 2 stand up paddle boards at no additional charge. The calm waters of Oro bay make for some of the smoothest paddling you'll find anywhere. Expect to see our resident seals and eagles. An easy 10 minute paddle brings you across Oro Bay to Jacobs Point Aquatic Reserve. More experienced paddlers can circle the island or head for nearby Ketron Island. If you're lucky you'll see the Orca and Humpback whales, seals and porpoises that frequently visit southern Puget Sound.
We have a buoy right in front of the house if you'd like to bring your boat.
Not available for parties, events or large gatherings.

Guest access
You'll have the entire home, property and beach to yourselves. The dock is not available to guests but you'll have full access to the beach. There's plenty of parking on site- 4 cars maximum. Garages not available to guests.

Other things to note
Grocery and restaurant options on the island are very limited. There is only one small general store on the island. It has very limited basic food items (milk, bread, etc.). Do your grocery shopping on the mainland. There are 2 restaurants on the island with limited hours. There's lots of great restaurants, shopping, spas and services in Steilacoom within walking distance of the the ferry dock on the mainland side.
You should purchase ferry tickets online in advance of departure. The ferry is first come/first serve. GPS does not work on the island; limited street lights on roads.

Location

Anderson Island, Washington, United States

Anderson Island is the southernmost island in the Puget Sound. It's just under 8 square miles with a total of about 1,000 permanent residents. The island is rural with many things to do. There's a 9 hole golf course with a restaurant and clubhouse. Hike in any of the several nature and beach parks or enjoy 3 fresh water lakes including an old fashioned "swimming hole" and a stocked fishing lake. You can grab espresso and sandwiches at the island cafe or dinner at the island restaurant. Tour the over 100 year old Historic Johnson Farm (weekends only) or stroll the summer farmers market. There's also tennis, basketball and pickle ball courts at the old school house. If you want to venture back to the mainland there are lots of restaurants, bars, shopping, spas and services in the historical town of Steilacoom within walking distance of the mainland ferry dock. The Chambers Bay US Open Golf Course is just a few minutes drive from the mainland side of the ferry.

We were born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. My wife is a professional communicator who enjoys the great outdoors. I'm a musician and can bore you to tears, rambling on about my favorite music. We've spent much of our lives traveling the world, yet always loved exploring our native Pacific Northwest. We recently discovered the many hidden islands, beaches and inlets of Southern Puget Sound. We were amazed that such beautiful places could exist so close to us, without ever knowing they were even there. We now own and share three island beach homes in South Puget Sound. When passion knocks, answer. Don’t ask questions. Just go where it takes you. Enjoy!
