About this listing

This attic room is very peaceful, with a view out over the city rooftops to Cardiff Castle, the rugby stadium, and the city centre. It has a comfortable double futon and a single bed (with option for another bed and a foam mattress on the floor), so is suitable for a couple + 1 or +2, or up to 3 single people. Free wi-fi, city centre maps, guide books etc.
Je parle francais - y hablo espanol tambien!
Private attic room, shared bathroom, kitchen and back garden. Access to the attic room is by a wooden stair-ladder, so guests need to be reasonably 'fit'! The bathroom has a (small) bath and a shower, and there's always hot water.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen as a cooking/eating space.
Interaction with Guests
I may or may not be home during your stay, and my 13 year old son or daughter may be here as well. But whatever the combination, we'll welcome you with a cup of tea or coffee, and soon make you feel at home. Guests can arrive any time and if possible check out by 11am. You can leave bags etc. here while you explore the city, even after you've checked out and keep a key so you can collect them later.
Riverside is a friendly multicultural community with plenty of character and some great local bars and restaurants. I am only 2 minutes from Millennium Stadium, and 5 minutes walk from the bus and train stations, and city centre, with a big park (Castle Park) very close by. Dr. Who experience is 20 minutes walk! There is a farmers market (which I set up many years ago) every Sunday morning very close to my house, selling wonderful fresh local Welsh food of all kinds.
Main bus and train stations are only 5 minutes walk away, and from there you can travel all over Wales/UK. We're only 2 hours by train from London. The airport is a 20 minute bus ride. There is street parking close to the house.
Other Things to Note
This is a bit of an 'artist's' house, with interesting decor so it's friendly and a bit funky, clean but not all new and shiny. We're in a very culturally diverse but peaceful and friendly neighbourhood with little traffic and a park at the end of the road. There are plenty of food shops and ethnic take-aways and restaurants nearby. (Also fish and chips, naturally!). Guests are welcome to put food in the fridge and use the kitchen.

No smoking or alcohol in the house, please. Otherwise the only 'rule' is 'relax and make yourself at home!' And check-out of the room by 11am if possible...but no problem if you want to leave your bags and collect them later.
