About this listing
This cozy room consists of a queen sized bed, an HDTV flat screen television with cable, lots of closet space, a small work desk and a shared bath/shower.
Welcome to The Tiger's Den. My house is about a block from Fresh Market at Paco Plaza. This is a secure gated community with a guard at the entrance at all times. It's a five minute walk to a great gym and about a 15 minute walk to a great pool. We're about 20 minutes from the center of San Jose and 25 minutes from the main SJ airport (Juan Santamaría International Airport). We're also about 20 minutes from the Tobías Bolaños International Airport airport in Pavas.
There are two bedrooms I rent out with a queen sized bed in each. Plus my bedroom and a private suite with it's own bath and private entrance.
Provided with the cost of your bedroom are towels and linens, and a private or shared shower w/hot water, color TV and cable in your room, plus high speed wireless internet.
I enjoy sharing my space with people who are easy- going, neat, healthy, or at least interested in getting healthy, non-tobacco smokers.
This is a gay, vegetarian and animal friendly establishment. You don't have to be gay or vegetarian but I do hope you like animals. I have two cats and two puppies. If you have allergies, or don't really thrill to animals in your space, just keep your doors closed and the animals won't enter your room. If you want animals to play with mine are very friendly.
Although I list the place as handicap accessible, there are 3-4 steps to enter the house. There is also a bed in the front fenced in area to relax in the evening and watch the moon and stars, with a hammock and two swinging chairs.
You have access to the rest of the house including the kitchen, living room with fireplace, dining room, an outdoor bar/BBQ area, that includes a 5th full bathroom and washer and dryer, a refrigerator and running water and seating for several people.
I have a big yard with a patio, tropical plants surrounding a bar/BBQ area. The garden offers the perfect environment to read, eat, or simply relax or meditate. The bar is also a nice dry place to watch the rain in front of the fireplace during the 'green' season.
There's a dining room and a large eat in kitchen with all American-style appliances including a dishwasher. There is a large living room with a TV and fireplace.
I interact with guests on an intermittent level. I'm in the house a lot, but also have an art studio so I'm in there for a big part of the day. I will cook meals at a cost of $10.00/per person, but usually require 24 hours notice. I'm friendly, but also busy.
This is a great neighborhood, close to everything! Gym, swimming pool, bus, a nice park, walking distance to restaurants, shopping and hundreds of services like hair salons etc.
The bus to San Jose stops practically in front of the house. .60-.80 cents to get anywhere.
I love to teach people how to prepare great meals. You buy the food and I'll show you how to prepare it.

Other Things to Note
If you'd like to learn to prepare a few things I love to teach people how to cook. Anything from a simple hummus dip to a full course meal for two or more. I would also be glad to take you to the local farmers market if I'm around on Saturdays. I like to hike the mountains around here too, if you want to join me, you may
I don't allow tobacco smoking on the premises. Please respect my home and my belongings. I would appreciate it if you ate and drank only what you brought into the house yourselves.
Although my plans changed and I was not able to stay with Jilla, she was forthright and honest in her communications. I will keep her in mind for future stays.
I had to cancel due to a bereavement in the family. Jilla gave me my one my money back.
She was always helpful and considerate.
A great stay! An upscale house in a secure neighborhood. Within walking distance to the bus stop to go to downtown San Jose. Tiger goes out of her way to make your stay pleasant. Highly recommend!
Really enjoyed my stay with Tiger. She took me to the best
places to eat and shop .Her condo is incredible, convenient to
all of Escazu.
Very helpful with everything.
I stay 10 days at Jilla's place, Jilla is a great person, fun to be around, unfortunately she had plans to travel during my stay and spend few hours with her, the location is fantastic in a very safe area, transportation is few blocks away, only objection I have is the mattress in the bed is worn out and too soft for me, noisy if you move around, over all I do recommend Jilla's place.
Unfortunately I had to cancel the booking due to medical reasons but have to say that Jilla responded quick to all my enquiries and her attitude was very positive.
Escazu is a lovely neighbourhood with a multi-plaza mall, Walmart, TGIFs, and many other stores a short walk away.
I had stayed with Jilla for 2 weeks during my surgery and major orthodontics. CIMA hospital, where I had my surgery, is a short 10 minute walk away. During my recovery, I was not in my best sorts. Jilla was a kind and gracious host, allowing me to use the bedroom with the TV while I recuperated. When I encountered complications, she called the doctor and helped as she could. She is a very healthy eater, making numerous shakes, of which I enjoyed a few. Thanks, Jilla.

About the Host, Jilla Aka Tiger
I'm a retired personal trainer and love to exercise and walk. I cook healthy food. My house is a great place to come if you're on a diet, or just enjoy healthy eating. I'm very laid back and love to have my breakfast outside, snooze in the hammock, or just hang out in the garden. I also do ceramic sculpture, and pottery, and enjoy making jewelry with polymer clays and resins. I like movies and love to read autobiographies, biographies, novels, and study books including Spanish, Travel, History and Spirituality. I love to travel and meet new people. I also love to cook and can prepare many various types of dishes. I particularly like curries. I enjoy having new people in my home and many of my guests have become dear friends who come back when ever they can. Sometimes I can be kind of private and just need alone time. It depends on what's going on and how many people are in the house at once. It can occasionally be a bit overwhelming when there are several people visiting at once. It almost never happens though. Usually only one or two guests at a time. Please tell me a bit about you and why you're coming to CR.
