Kiwi Surf and Stay Cabins are located right at Kaikoura’s surf breaks on Kiwa Road, Mangamaunu. We offer beautiful beach accommodation in our stylish private cabins. Our surf and stay is epic for adventurous travellers who especially love nature, the ocean and surfing! You will enjoy stunning ocean and mountain views! Gorgeous sunrises and spectacular evening stargazing!

The space
Kiwi Surf and Stay and Spa is located right on the waterfront at Kaikoura’s famous surf breaks on Kiwa Road - 10km north of Kaikoura in Managamaunu. Surf and relax with spectacular sea, native forest and mountain views. We are the first home on Kiwa Road, you can’t miss it! We have two new accommodation cabins (sunrise and sunset) The cabins have a fridge, microwave and coffee/tea making facilities with private bathrooms and spacious outdoor area to soak in the amazing surroundings. Each room is equipped with a cooking facilities. Queen size modern bed with new luxurious and comfortable Winkle mattresses. Clean crisp ironed linen and feather duvet to snuggle in at night. The outdoor space catches the beautiful Kaikoura sunrise looking out to the beach and mountains. Take a walk along the beautiful secluded, natural surf beach where you can find and take home a stunning Kaikoura paua shell, spot a few seals, wake up early for the sunrise and you might see dolphins playing. Sit out at night, relax in our spa and take in magnificent views. Stay up to watch the Milky Way and star gaze! We also have a skate ramp to use. Each cabin is listed separately - Sunrise and Sunset.

Access to Kiwi Surf Experience (summer months) - Kaikoura’s only surf school. Skate ramp and spa pool. Surf Hire and professional SNZ qualified coach. (closed in winter months or by appointment. Out door shower, Outdoor Patio area. Surf breaks along Mangamaunu, North Kaikoura wildlife including the famous baby seal pups. Close to famous crayfish caravan - Nins Bin and Ohau seal colony and wildlife sanctuary. Paua and Cray diving (paua is seasonal) Hapuku bike track is very close. Puhi-Puhi Valley walking track.

Other things to note
Kiwa Road is not sign posted (signs get stolen) so use your Phone Map if you’re not familiar with the area. You will see the Urupa (maori cemetery as you drive into Kiwa Road. Drive over the railway line and we are not far up from there. First house on the right. You will see the two cabins as you arrive. SUNRISE is the closest to the sea. This booking is for the SUNRISE CABIN.

There is a train track that runs along the back of the property, there maybe. 1 or 2 trains that go past at night so don’t be alarmed.

Please be respectful of noise if there are other guests in the next door cabin.

SPA POOL - there is a spa for you to enjoy a hot soak. Max time in spa is 1hour. Please don’t use the spa after 10:30pm and shower before entering.

Kiwa Road is remote with only a few other houses further up the road. We have the most stunning scenery with the Waves on one side and native bush with backdrop mountains on the other! Breathtaking sunrises over New Zealand’s best wave parks! Magnificent sunrise and sun sets. Kiwi Surf and Stay is 10km and 10mins drive north of Kaikoura town and 1km from famous Hapuku Lodge and tee houses. It’s a beach/surfer destination with no shops or restaurants close. You can book into Hapuku Lodge for their 3 course set menu dinner at around $100pp. Bring out your picnics and supplies or take a short drive into town and dine in at Kaikoura’s restaurants. Koura Bay Golf Course is just 5 minutes drive south and Donegal house Irish pub is just 10mins drive south. The famous Nins Bin crayfish and seafood caravan is 10 minutes drive north.
