Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Very small (under 300 square feet), very sweet house for one or two. Double bed, bath with shower, LIGHT cooking, wood stove and electric heat, driftwood deck, partial water view. On same beach lot with larger vacation rental and you share yard and beach with guests staying in other house. Bring your kayak, paddle board and/or bicycle. As noted in the house rules, OUR BOATS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RENTAL. They are old and unsafe and the waters here can be challenging. NO EXTRA GUESTS.

The space
This house was built as a single car, free standing garage in the 1940's. It was never used as a garage and the original owners put in windows and wallboard. We bought it in 1994 and put in a bathroom with shower only, a small kitchenette, a wood stove and additional heat. We enlarged and rebuilt the small deck with cedar planking and driftwood.There is also driftwood inside as part of the kitchen and bathroom shelving. We do not accept more than two guests, and ask guests not to cook for additional people in the cabin.

Guest access
Guests share the yard and small beach with guests in the larger Orcas Island Beach Cottage. If the Orcas Island Beach Cottage is not booked, guests in the tiny house have access (with permission only) to the large decks of the Beach Cottage as well as their own small deck.

Other things to note
We have a three night minimum beginning in April, 2020, and three day week ends and holidays throughout the year. In 2023, we have a four night minimum for a booking that includes the night of July 4, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas and/or New Years Eve.

Neighborhood highlights

Our small neighborhood has only single family houses, which are usually occupied during the summer and shoulder months, when the beach is at its best. There are fewer neighbors here during the winter, but winter can be wonderful if you like to watch storms over the water while you are sitting by the fire. We do ask guests to be mindful about the limited parking shared with guests in the larger house, and, especially not to park on the neighbor's property.
