It is Mardi Gras Central, stocked with everything you need to move right in and be a New Orleanian! You’ll find everything clean and spotless. Step right out your door to great bars and restaurants, walk to Magazine Street, tour the Garden District on foot, jump on the streetcar to French Quarter and Audubon Park!

The space
I renovated this small building into my private single home and furnished it with a comfortable mix of modern local art, antiques and mid century pieces. The decor reflects my artistic personality. It is well set with all that you’ll need, professionally cleaned and the filters are changed regularly. This is a hate-free home, all are welcome. I treasure it and ask that you enjoy it with care. (Please note: this home is not child-proofed).
The great room has a comfortable sofa, ottoman, coffee table, antique armoire, console, mirrors, art, television and a rocking chair. The dining room comfortably seats four at an antique rattan dining set under a mid century inspired chandelier.
The bright spacious modern galley kitchen has an island and quartz countertops, and is fully stocked and spotless. Stainless appliances include gas stove and oven, under counter microwave,refrigerator/freezer (ice maker), dishwasher, and laundry washing machine and dryer. There is a keurig coffee maker and pods at hand. In the bedrooms, there is a queen size bed, and a pair of twins. The mattresses are new and comfortable, with supportive pillows and high quality sheets. Each bedroom provides bedside tables and lamps, extra pillows and blankets, a pair of closets with hangers and built in dressers for drawer space. The large and bright bathroom has an antique claw foot bathtub with a shower. (Please note : a claw foot tub may be hazardous for people with mobility challenges). Also for your convenience and enjoyment you’ll find a professional hairdryer and Italian hair and Davines hair and bath products. The bath towels and washcloths are plush, nice and new. The wireless fiber internet is secure, fast and dependable.
The living room is fitted with a SmartTV , as is one of the bedrooms. Each bedroom has a noise machine to reduce outside noise. There is a Nest thermostat to control central air conditioning and heating for comfort. All amenities are included. Just outside the door in the kitchen is an intimate secure courtyard, an urban garden with plants, a bistro table, swing chair, and fountain. A lovely place for morning sunshine and coffee or a happy hour glass of wine.

As a guest you have complete privacy and unlimited access to the entire freestanding building its intimate outdoor courtyard.

Other things to note
This is a hip urban New Orleans location and it’s hard to beat. I love the action, but please note it is not quiet, there are sounds of the city. Streetcars, garbage trucks, pedestrian traffic, sirens and activity. Also be aware that if you have a vehicle, parking is on street, and is only free at night and on weekends. After you’ve unloaded your car, it’s easy to find unlimited free spaces nearby and just across Saint Charles Avenue. Please note: If you’re looking for a quiet space with unlimited free parking, my house is not your best choice.

Neighborhood highlights

My neighborhood is called Touro-Bouligny, in Uptown New Orleans. It is privately patrolled for safety and security and very centrally located. It is just steps away from Saint Charles Avenue and Touro Hospital. One block to the Garden District, four blocks to Magazine Street, and the historic Saint Charles Avenue Strretcar is essentially at your door. It is a fun neighborhood with a great French bar, The Delachaise, just two doors down. Across the street is the new Hotel Henrietta, its lobby offers great wine and coffee, and hosts Flour Moon Bagel Shop. Also Soviergn English Pub, QiQi (our Uptown neighborhood gay bar), and Orleans Coffee Shop are literally steps away. Just next door is Leo’s Caboose, offering a good breakfast and po boy. Two blocks up is Superior Mexican Grill, The Fresh Market is a terrific full service supermarket with a liquor store upstairs, located just two blocks away on Saint Charles in the historic Builtman Funeral Home building. Many fantastic restaurants and shops are nearby! There is always something going on and plenty of entertainment.
