We are generally around and available to help. We do hang out on the shared deck sometimes, but we live in a separate house on the property. Guests likely will interact more with Bodhi, our lovable dog, than with us unless they seek us out!
Dominical is a small beach town, with world-class surf and beautiful sunsets. There are several good restaurants and cafes, decent supermarkets, a bank and a pharmacy. There are a multitude of amazing outdoor experiences, tours and adventures to be had, which we can help arrange. Occasionally there is interesting night life although Dominical is more of a daytime place.
There are plenty of buses and taxis to get around to surrounding areas, and one can walk to everything in Dominical easily from our place. We can help arrange shuttles or transport to get to or from the airport.

My husband and I stayed at Danyasa for 3 nights. It was a great experience. First, everyone who worked there was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Second, the grounds of the Eco-retreat were quite impressive. There was so much thought put into every little detail. It really feels like a magical place. The rooms are in an actual shipping container and are quite cozy (in a good way). There is an outdoor kitchen, common porch area and outdoor shower that give the place a very special charm. I wish we could have stayed longer. Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to practice yoga while we were there, but the yoga room was amazing - so open to everything. I would highly recommend Danyasa, and next time we are down in CR, we would definitely stay there again!
Danyasa is a truly beautiful space, and if you're looking for a place to get away from it all, this is perfect! The rooms are on the cozy side, but the shared spaces are just wonderful, and Danyasa as a whole is filled with really positive, nurturing energy. I did run into a small problem during my stay, which was no fault of the hosts (torrential rains led to a little water leakage in my room), but it was taken care of quickly and efficiently, and I was very pleased with the way it was handled. I didn't do any yoga while I was there, but I got the impression that they run a great studio, too!
Had a lovely stay at this quiet abode, response time on communication was super fast. Simple rooms that do not feel barren, a proper kitchen, and good company to share. Would definitively recommend.
wow what a nice stay we had there! beatifull place, very peacefull and very well maintained! i love the fact that we stay in eco containers, Wake up with the sound of the bird, and the jungle! we did some yoga in the morning and surf in the afternoon!! Sophia and Brendan were very nice and welcoming! the surf studio is awesome, the place is awesme and the kitchen is perfect!! i highly recommend!!!
Beautiful place and great location. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to meet Brendan as he was out of town and I was only in Dominical for a short time, but Danyasa was everything you'd want to experience in Costa Rica. Close to surf rentals and restaurants. Definitely recommend
We arrived in Uvita and needed a place to stay that had good wifi and was close to the beach. Brendan was running errands in Uvita and offered to pick us up. We stayed for 2 nights and didn't want to leave, the location is ideal for quiet work time with beach breaks in between, macaws flying around a fully stocked kitchen and sublime silence in the rooms! And as a bonus they offer yoga classes and are Eco-conscious! Their Eco boutique has some awesome jewelry, art, clothes and wonderful staff. If you're in Dominical this is the place to stay.
Staying at the Danyasa Eco-Retreat was a dream! It was truly unlike any other accommodations I had ever experienced. The renovated shipping containers are lovely and completely innovative. They were complete with modern dimmer lighting, A/C, fan, shelving, queen bed and many windows. The jungle shower was wonderful as it coined hot water, privacy, and lots of space.
Sofiah was welcoming, warm, and kind.
We didn't stick around the accommodations too much as we were out exploring during the day- but definitely looked forward to going back for a lovely sleep in the evenings.
I would definitely recommend the Danyasa Eco-Retreat for individuals who are looking to feel relaxed and at peace as it's placed in a tranquil jungle atmosphere. The quiet and stillness of the environment was flawless.
