Experience beautiful Sigatoka Fiji staying on our family farm where views are beautiful and food is delicious, natural and locally-grown -much of it right here on the farm. Price includes the food! **All inclusive!!** No hidden annoying fees.

The space
Teitei Permaculture Farm is 19.2Km up the valley from Sigatoka town. On a 30 acre farm surrounded by beautiful valleys and mountains. There are two nice beaches half an hour away.

We raise happy chickens, ducks, geese, honeybees and fish and grow coconuts, cassava, papayas, pineapples, ginger, lemons, corn, peanuts, bananas, sweet potato, sorghum, guava, breadfruit, jackfruit, cashews, sandalwood and more. Some things are strongly seasonal so we supplement from our neighbors farms or the farmers market in town if we run short.

All meals and snacks are included in our rate and we can work with most dietary restrictions.

Tetei guests are welcome to take a free guided farm tour, ask questions, pitch in, etc.

Our farm is a recognized permaculture site.

Our rate is US$48 per person per night
and for Children (age 5-12) $24 per night.
Kids under 5 stay free.

We recommend booking 3 nights and extending once you are here. Our weekly rate is stay 6 nights get one night free!

Farm activities are included at no extra cost
(swimming in the river, hiking in the area,
evening bond-fires, local cooking etc.)

Some activities are charged (town and beach outings, massages, horse rides, tubing down the river etc.) but our activities are very affordable as well as helping the local community.

Group rates available for larger parties.
Extended stay rates available.

SOME STUFF TO DO:

-Hang out with our friendly cooks
-Swim in the river
-Unwind
-Go into Sigatoka town to shop
-Hang with the family in the evening, playing games, watching a movie, etc.
-Join us in the family's interfaith devotions with prayers and songs each night before dinner.
-Go fishing in our pond or in the river
-Form an impromptu band on site with our musical instruments, have a bonfire.
-Look at the stars, They are amazing here.!

Keep in Mind that we have a peaceful quiet guest cottage so it can also a good place for reading, reflecting, meditating writing and all manner of creative simi-isolation.. haha

Other things to note
ABOUT OUR FOOD
At least half of our food is either from our farm or from the local market. Our farm is near organic – no herbicides or pesticides, some fertilizer is used. Local market foods are also near organic except for off-season crops, which we avoid. We have a lot of Indian and Fijian dishes, but are always experimenting, and can adjust menus within reason to cater to our guests. Everyone eats in the main house, and we try to all gather for dinner.
Three meals are provided daily: breakfast,, lunch, and dinner. Plus tea coffee or a snack are always available.

The current permanent population of the farm. Austin and Kim - the oldies.
Eminoni "Junior" Farm Manager / miscreant - rascal - scalawag..
Nicole - Hatchery Officer, and the bride of Eminoni!
Ashmita - lives off property - she is our Kitchen Angel.

We live in a safe area. No thefts in 11 years here.

THE DOWN SIDE - to be candid - the animals can get noisy and sometimes poop where we wish they wouldn't. We do what we can, but insects can be bothersome at times (our rooms are fully screened, so mosquitoes at night are not usually a problem, but we have an on-going battle with non-biting ants). Our shower has only cold running water - for a hot shower you take a "hot bucket"

Location

Exact location provided after booking.

Sigatoka, Western Division, Fiji

Our immediate neighbors are Indian farmers and very friendly - they will likely invite you in for tea. Nearby is a Fijian village, and the villagers are very friendly as well - we can easily arrange a visit to the village.

We are an expat American family (world citizens at heart) who live on a sustainable practice farm. Working to improve food security. "Teitei" is Fijian for planting or plantation. We have a healthy lifestyle with great food featuring a lot of produce from the farm. At times even chocolate ! Being as creative in the kitchen as possible is one of life's pleasures.. :) If you love fresh air, stars at night, and a natural environment (and don't mind some noisy animals and a few insects), then you'll enjoy it here.

During your stay
Teitei Farmstay is a great destination for people who are spiritually and ecologically oriented, open-minded, and who want to have authentic Fiji experiences. It is a good choice for families. The guest cottage has 3 bedrooms, Two of the rooms have sleeping lofts and room for other bedding below so smaller children can rest well either up in the loft or at ground level. The cabin has a shared toilet and outside shower, and the rooms have fans and reading lights. The guest house is about 20 meters from the main house.. Once here you can have as much solitude and peace, or socializing and adventuring, as you would like.
