Seclusion! This high mountain destination is not for the faint of heart located high in the San Juan Mountains. The road is located off of the historical Bachelor Loop. It starts off steep but then becomes more gradual. A 4X4 with Low gear is a MUST!! Off-road experience a PLUS. Perfect place for a romantic getaway. Has solar lighting and we provide water jugs for your stay. Plus a composting toilet in attached bathroom! No Running Water

The space
Please be aware that yurt sits at 11,242 feet above sea level and conditions can change rapidly. Arriving early in the day is recommended as yurt is located 1.7 miles from the maintained Bachelor Loop. Road and terrain is steep for first 3/4 of a mile and may take longer than you expect. Proper equipment is required in the event that you are unable to reach yurt. Trail in winter is typically hard packed from users and owners and may not be depending on winter storm frequency and timing but is clearly marked with fluorescent tape on trees as well as a sign at beginning of road that says Nelson Mountain. There is absolutely no open fires allowed on property as the beetlekill trees are overly abundant. If in the event you violate this rule you will personally be responsible for damage to property, firefighting costs, and any cost associated with it to surrounding area. There is a propane contained firepit that can be used outside during warmer months. The yurt is equipped with a composting toilet please see instructions in bathroom for use and care. The primary heating is woodstove and there is also an indoor safe propane heater for backup. There is a propane cookstove and refrigerator. Solar lighting depending on weather conditions. Bedding and cooking utensils are provided. NO RUNNING WATER!
