Bob is retired after a varied career which included practicing law, directing a state-wide housing finance agency, directing an art organization for local Latino artists and being a Peace Corps Volunteer. Dee still works as a mental health therapist in private practice (and contends that Bob is her major project). She has also worked as a state-wide guardian for adults with disabilities, as a counselor for troubled Native American children in a federally funded non-reservation residential school and as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Bob and Dee have been married since 1968, after having met as Peace Corps Volunteers in Panama. We have two children, who, to our dismay, are entering middle age. We keep a close tab on local and national politics and are in tune with the overall political ethos of this area. We enjoy availing ourselves of the wide variety and high quality of Twin Cities restaurants. We also entertain ourselves with musical and dance performances, and dramas. We are especially taken with the Ragamala Dance Company, a local group with an international reputation, which performs its own creations in a traditional Indian dance and music form. We're movie buffs and both agree that "No Country for Old Men" is a classic of our times. Dee has a passion for crime-solving tv shows, while Bob digs adventure reality shows like "The Deadliest Catch" and "Naked and Afraid." Finally, we travel, ourselves, trying to get to the Black Hills and to Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Bob's old stomping grounds), annually, where we stay with old and cherished friends. And, although it's a much longer trip, we get to D.C. as often as possible to see Dee's old friends and family.

During your stay
Bob is retired and is usually around for answering questions about the apartment, the neighborhood, and the Twin Cities (all to the extent possible) and for doing what is necessary to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Dee works part-time, but is also helpful and friendly. You may occasionally see Willie, our Shih Tzu, a rescue dog in the process of socialization (he's a bit stand-offish, but doesn't bite).
