Milkmaid's Cottage nestles under the Losehill Ridge with wonderful south facing views across the Hope Valley. If you bring your wellies you will be able to see the new-born lambs in Spring, visit the calf house

The cottage is situated adjacent to the owner's home on a working farm with cattle, sheep, hens, and dogs. Walks from the door include the ridge walk, free on site parking and super fast broadband

The space
Milkmaid's cottage is on a working farm of 140 acres. It is ideal for two people, with a dressing room suitable for a cot, the cottage is full central heated, electric log effect fire and double glazed. With two bathrooms: one upstairs and one downstairs. From your doorstep you can take the footpath directly to the Great ridge walk and enjoy spectacular views over the Hope Valley. Lot of eating place in the village of Castleton 15 minutes walk from the cottage. ideally situated to visit Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Peveril Castle
Our cottage is great for a staycation, as a work-from-home with ultra fast internet. Parking adjacent to the cottage. Seating outside of the cottage to enjoy the views and a glass of wine.

We have lots of buildings to store any bikes. Parking adjacent to the cottage. If you bring your wellies you will be able to see the new born lambs in Spring,

Other things to note
We live adjacent to the cottage so we are on hand to help. We are a working farm with sheep, cattle, working dogs and hens so dogs must not be allowed without been on a lead


We provide tea coffee milk, sugar, bread, butter, eggs, tea, preserves and orange juice for a breakfast , so guests will not have to rush out and buy something.

Here's what to expect when you come to stay Arrival
Our check in time is now slightly later at 5pm unless prearranged to enable us to carry out the extra cleaning measures
We will be operating a self-check in, but will be on hand at a social distance if you need any help
We will provide extra cleaning products and hand sanitizer to use during your stay
When you enter your Cottage please take your shoes off and leave in the entrance
We have removed non-essential items to reduce risk and make cleaning easier, but if you need anything let us know
Cleaning
In addition to our usual thorough cleaning routines we will be sanitising all high touch surfaces with disinfectant spray
In the cottages all cutlery and crockery and glasses will be run through the dishwasher ready for your arrival
Remote controls are in a plastic bag to reduce risk
Laundry

Tell us immediately if you feel unwell
Before you leave open all the windows and give the toilets a final flush
Strip the beds and place linen and towels in the bags provided
Empty all rubbish

Bear in mind that you will probably need to pre-book tickets in advance to visit attractions which are open.

Chatsworth House, Lyme Park Eyam, Hadden Hall, Bakewell, Castleton caves and lots moreCastleton is a picturesque and historic village set within the beautiful landscape of the Peak District. It is famous for its Blue John mining history and has four show caves. The beautiful village has six pubs, cafes, shops, general stores, a post office and visitor centre. Winnats Pass, leading into the village, is describe by some as equal to the Cheddar Gorge
