Beautiful and walkable

This two bedroom, one bathroom cottage is located in South Mission Beach, a quiet residential area. The house sits 100 feet from the bay, and about 75 yards from the ocean, the location is perfect!

The space
Built in 1942, this two bedroom one bath cottage is located in beautiful South Mission Beach, with the ocean on one side, and the bay on the other (the bay is closer, about 100 feet; the ocean is about 75 yards). Beautiful original hardwood floors throughout, brick fireplace (gas), wall heater, and ceiling fans in every room (except kitchen and bath).

Fully stocked kitchen; full bath, and all bed and bath linens are provided. We also provide beach towels, beach chairs/umbrella, sand toys, boogie boards, bicycles, razor scooters, and a kayak.

There's a full size washer and dryer in the attached garage for your private use. Covered carport for parking 2 small or 1 mid size or larger car.

Other amenities include a portable crib, baby stroller, high chair, premium cable TV with Roku, DVD player and library, high speed wi-fi internet, large gas BBQ grill, and outdoor shower.

The cottage is a one story, single family home, not a condo: you share no walls, and no one is above or below. The beautiful front garden and private back patio are yours alone to enjoy, and both have table and chairs.

The cottage is close to all the main attractions: Belmont Park is a 5 minute walk; SeaWorld is a 5 minute drive. The zoo, Balboa Park, downtown gaslamp, and La Jolla are all about a 15 to 20 minute drive. Nearest bus stop is a 10 minute walk. Legoland and Safari Park are about a 30 minute drive; Disneyland is about 90 minutes away.

The Happy Little Cottage has been in our family since the 1940's (we are 3rd generation owners); we live in the house next door to the cottage, and are here to help if you need it; otherwise we respect your privacy completely. The cottage is a wonderful place to stay, and we love sharing it with others, knowing they're creating their own treasured memories of time well spent with family and friends...

Guest access
You get the whole smash - house, front and back yards, washer, dryer - nothing shared, it's all yours. The only places that are off limits are the small locked cabinet in the garage, and the storage shed/area in the back patio.

Other things to note
Alcohol and smoking are prohibited on beaches and boardwalks, and most public spaces.
The cottage is also a strictly non-smoking space, and no pets are allowed; additionally, absolutely NO PARTIES or loud gatherings are permitted. Occupancy is limited to 4 persons, including children; any exceptions must be agreed to in advance by hosts.

Neighborhood highlights

This is a nice, quiet, safe neighborhood. It's also absolutely beautiful! The bay is 100 feet from the house; the ocean is about 100 yards away (you can hear the ocean late at night, esp. at high tide).
South Mission Beach is much more residential than the rest of Mission Beach, partly because it dead ends at the jetty - no through traffic means far less traffic here than the rest of Mission Beach; crossing the boulevard to get to the ocean is much easier and safer here!
