The apartment was perfectly nice. It is the ground floor of a beautiful, old building and therefore stays very cool inside. We only spent time there to sleep really, but it served its purpose well. The house had all necessary amenities.
Giulio was a great host. While he did not meet us at the apartment, he sent someone friendly and helpful who spoke enough English to get us all set up. Giulio provided maps and useful information on things we might want to do or see ahead of time, which we appreciated very much.
Overall, the apartment was a great bargain in a great location and we would definitely return!
The apartment was absolutely charming. Mrs. Claudia met us promptly and made us feel very welcome. Although her English was not great, we communicated quite well. We loved the little walled town of San Quirico and the apartment, although it retained the old world ambience of the little town, had been modernized so that we had everything we could possibly need to be comfortable. Giulio emailed us maps and information before we even left home so we felt well prepared to enjoy the town and surrounding area. The location between Montalcino and Montepulciano was perfect for us to learn more about the wonderful wines in the area and San Quirico was a wonderful little place where we could walk to fabulous restaurants in moments. I truly hope we will be able to return to this little jewel of an apartment! Many thanks, Giulio!
Upon arrival, Ms. Claudio met up with us. Although she didn't speak English, she made every effort to explain things to us. She even asked the help of a neighbour who speaks English to help translate.
The apartment was warm and cozy and all the essential ammenities to make our stay very comfortable. The location was in a nice, historic town close to a lot of photogenic Tuscan scenery.
Would very much recommend this place and will be happy to come back.
Poliziano is wonderful. Giulio sent amazing directions and information and was very helpful. Mrs. Claudia met us on arrival and was great. San Quirico is a wonderful village and the apartment is conveniently located in the center. Beautiful getaway weekend.
Very attractive apartment. Clean, well decorated. I would return again if ever in the area. San Quirico is a gem of a little town.
Unfortunately Giulio was not available to greet us on arrival and so we didn't meet him at all. We were met by a lady who didn't speak English and therefore found it hard to answer some of our questions, although she did try her best and was very polite and efficient in meeting us promptly with the key.
The accommodation was clean and comfortable as described and the only criticism was that it was a little dark inside the flat with nowhere to sit outside, however that was the nature of the building and therefore Giulio could do nothing to change this.
Very basic refreshments were provided, tea, coffee, packets of toasted bread, biscuits and jam, so do expect to visit the local bakery each morning if you want anything fresh or more substantial to eat.
San Quirico was a beautiful place in which to stay as it is full of history and yet small and slightly off the main tourist trail. We had a lovely walk from the town over to the surrounding hills and found it a superbly placed location for visiting many Tuscan hill towns including Sienna, Montalcino, Pienza and Montepulciano. The restaurant Giulio recommends was delightful, serving excellent local food and was good value for money too.
Altogether a very enjoyable stay in a lovely old street in San Quirico d'Orcia.
Good directions provided for locating the accommodation.
Thank you very much Giulio.
We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Poliziano. Mrs. Claudia quickly met us and showed us the apartment, which was perfect for my wife and me. Giulio recommended a couple of restaurants in town, both of which were wonderful. The village of San Quirico d'Orcia is beautiful and located near other, equally beautiful villages, such as Montelcino and Pienza. We look forward to returning to Tuscany some day and will definitely contact Giulio when we do.
