Rent a nice apartment in Monterosso al Mare, Cinque Terre, the province of La Spezia. The owners and managers are a retired couple. The owner speaks French, Spanish and a little English, but it is passionate, like her husband, traveling and easy to understand the needs of the guests: when the language is not a problem, she loves chatting with other guests. Then there is I who give them a hand getting emails and giving the latest news to tourist. I live in La Spezia North East hills, and I manage a Guesthouse in the family summer villa (Villa Ducci). Even my father is in Monterosso he has much experience of paths, having spent his youth there. The apartment "Il Gabbiano" is organized for me and my brother and their families, it is funny, cheerful, simple, and there are many windows, it is very windy as it covers three sides of the building. My mother prefers renting quite couple, but really is organized by four people: let's say for three people, family and child, or friend, is a suitable position.

Heating is not included.
Till middle October usually not problem.
You can have an electric radiator and a heater fan: cost electricity is 0,35 euro per Kilowat.

  • We had a great time at Giacomo's apartment. It's very clean and is in a great location close to the water but away from the noise of the crowds. Giacomo met us at the train station and showed us a few areas and restaurants to visit. Great recommendations! The elevator is nice when you've been hauling heavy luggage around. And they had even bought breakfast supplies for us so we could make coffee and have something to eat before heading out to see the Cinque Terre.

  • We so enjoyed our stay in Monterosso at Isa and Giacomo's apartment! Giacomo met us at the train station, introduced us to the beautiful area and helped us with our bags on the short walk to the apartment. His orientation to the house was very helpful with an explanation of how to make our stay very comfortable! The wifi hot spot worked well with our apple devices. He also recommended some excellent activities as well as restaurants! One of our best meals in Italy (for ambiance and food) was at La Tortuga recommended by Giacomo! Also, the beach was awesome and very close to the apartment! We hope to come back some day and would stay here again!

  • A nice appartment in a perfect location if you're looking for a central stay with beach access.
Giacomo was very helpful and willing to provide tips for activities and good restaurants in Monterosso.
The appartment itself was not as clean as one could wish, especially when paying a cleaning fee. Also some minor issues like the gas stove not working etc.
all in all, a nice location to stay in and a great host aswell.

  • Great place located about 5 minutes walk from the train station at Monterosso.
Fully equipped kitchen, clean bathroom, large living space and perfect hosts.
We were met at the station by Giacomo who walked us to the apartment and guided us on the walks of Cinque Terre, restaurants in the area and walk through of the apartment. An excellent added service.
Had no issues whatsoever. Would DEFINITELY stay here again.

  • Very very clean unit. Fully equipped. Good bed. No hot water in the kitchen, we used a kettle to wash the dishes. Short on hot water in the shower, only could take a single shot shower at a time. The building had an elevator, however we weren't allowed to use it. Strange. Excellent location, convenient to everything and Giacomo gave very good advice on things to do and good restaurants. We used his suggestions and the were great.

  • Fantastic location and the hosts Isa and Giacomo were wonderful hosts. If you are planning a visit to the Cinque Terre, this is a top spot to base yourself for visiting the five cities. The apartment is old and needs an update, but it is efficient and met our needs. The only issue was no hot water in the kitchen, and no sharp knife in the kitchen. The internet Giacomo worked out is basic, but it works. It's a cell phone hotspot. You can hear conversations from adjacent apartments, luckily the building was fairly empty during our stay. Location and value are excellent - and Giacomo spent a full 30 minutes with us advising on how to hike and visit the area. Very nice!

  • The apartment was beautiful. It had everything we needed. Giacomo met us at the train station and showed us around. I would return in a minute!

  • Great experience and central location for exploring Cinque Terre. We were able to book this the day before, which was amazing. Giacomo was there to great us right when we got off the train, the ideal type of host for airbnb. He walked us over from the train station to the apartment giving us an overview of the area and lots of tips. When we were in the apartment, he even went over a large map of the area with places to go and eat at and a short history lesson about the La Spezia. Overall the apartment was very comfortable with a good value. The only complaints were you can definitely hear the noise from the train going by and the shower could have probably used a little sprucing up. But overall, these paled in comparison to the great location in Montessoro and the hospitality of the hosts starting from check in.

  • We had a lovely 4 night stay at this apartment which turned out to be closer to the water than we thought..just a few blocks from the waterfront. Giacomo was very kind and met us at the station and provided recommendations on restaurants and sights. The apt. was equipped with a kitchen and a good supply of utensils too. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace. Very light filled rooms with lots of windows. We would return.

  • We stayed at Isa and Giacomo's delightful apartment in Monterosso al mare in early September. After spending a busy few days in Venice we were looking forward to some relaxation and we could not have come to a better place. As promised, Giacomo met us on the station (!) and as we walked to the apartment he told us everything we needed to know about what the town offered and his suggestions for restaurants and the like.
The apartment itself is spotless and quite lovely, looking far better in reality than in the pictures. It is close to everything and yet it is away from the crowds so it is certainly quiet. Giacomo settled us in, showed us how everything worked, set us up with wi-fi, provided us with milk, bread, juice, jam, cakes, biscuits and toilet paper!! There is oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar and a fully equipped kitchen. A good supply of clean towels is provided and the hot water was plentiful. A comfortable bed ensured a good night sleep and beautiful sea breezes coming through the windows were wonderful. Being able to open the french doors that led to a small balcony was an added bonus.
If we are ever lucky enough to return to Monterosso, we would definitely want to stay at Isa and Giacomo's property again. A truly relaxing and memorable holiday experience with a delightful host who provides a first class service.

About
hi, we are a cosmopolitan couple Ecuador-Italian, we like quite and slowly travel ( not safary or climbing Everest) in friendly country (where they speak our languages: Italian, Spanish, French, English and some Portuguese). In 1999 I open my Guesthouse in my family XVI century villa on the hills between Tuscany and Cinque Terre. We own also two apartments in Monterosso al Mare (Cinque Terre), but we rent only one. My guests usually like a lot stay in my accommodation as you can read in my Villa DUCCI ' s guestbook or on TripAdvisor. I am a very polite guest as I have a large experience what can make upset a host. My 5 favourite thinks are: 1) snorkelling - swimming - hiking in Cinque Terre; 2) take care of Oliva trees; 3) discuss with my guests about italian and foreign countries; 4) eat ice-cream (mainly homemade ); 5) slow, quite, lazy travelling. One of my mottos: si vales bene est ego valeo : If you're fine, that's well, I am fine too.
