Neighborhood highlights

We are near the entrance to the best mountain highway pass to the Lake if you are coming from the Reno-Tahoe Airport. Spooner Summit Pass is the only divided Hwy leading to the Lake. This is a unique area of Northern Nevada because it is near Virginia City where the historic Gold Rush occurred during the 1800's. You can visit the Nevada State Museum which houses the old coin mint in Carson City. $20 gold pieces were minted here and they are in demand by collectors all over the world. Genuine silver dollars were also minted here many years ago. You can make the short drive to Virginia City which is still quaint and a real picture of the "Old West". Tours are offered of historic gold mines and you can walk on real "boardwalk" sidewalks along the vintage brick buildings.
**Our best feature however is Lake Tahoe. Take a day and drive all the way around it making time to look at the beauty of Sand Harbor, and the splendor of Emerald Bay. You can also take Mississippi paddleboat tours with lunch or dinner on the Lake or ride the gondola from "Gondola Village" to the top of Heavenly Valley which has skiing in the winter or summer activities at the 10,000 ft elevation level.

Lives in Carson City, Nevada
I have a wife and three kids and we have taken quite a few trips together over the years. I have traveled all over the world and still can't live without an occasional trip to the ocean. One of my favorite international trips was to New Zealand. Some of my other favorite places to visit include Norway, Denmark, New York, Pennsylvania, and California. I am a pretty laid back guest who enjoys meeting new people and conversation. I have lived near Lake Tahoe for the majority of my life, and enjoy spending time with my family. These days my wife and I would rather stay close to home and host rather than travel so much.
