If you’re looking for the comforts of home with the quietness of the country, this is it. A few miles north of Chappell Hill and close to Washington on the Brazos State Park, This home Is easily accessible to College Station (30 min), Navasota, Brenham and Round Top.

Friends and families gather here to watch sunrises, sunsets, enjoy morning coffee, and barbeque from big back porch. I am second owner of this 1899 home that is totally updated with today’s amenities.

The space
This home is an important part of history in Washington County. German emigrants settled here in the 1850’s. The 2nd generation of Kruegers built this home in 1899. 11 children were born here, and Bennie Krueger, the only son, was a Texas Ranger and country gentleman. Relatives toured my home in 2018 and shared their memories.

Guest access
There is plenty of on-site parking. Live oaks line the drive and it is easy to unload your car near back porch and enter from back.

Other things to note
The back porch is a guest “hang out” for barbecues and visiting.

If you are too tired to cook, go to
R Place, a casual cowboy bistro with live music on Saturday night that is 5 minutes away and serves a delicious 3 course dinner.

Dos Brisas is a renowned Michelin 3 star French Restaurant minutes away too. Check your bank account and prepare for a special evening or ask about Sunday Brunch or a drink by the infinity pool.

Slow down as you turn onto thiis magical winding road leading to a bridge crossing. (My children believed a troll hid underneath.) Now it is time to relax and enjoy country life.

If you’re looking for a place in the country with the comforts of home, this is it. Fully restored, this historic home is a popular place. A few minutes north of Chappell Hill and 30 minutes from TX A&M Kyle Field, it is easily accessible to Navasota, Brenham and Round Top! Bikers love to stay here because it is very close to FM 1155. Families and friends gather here for barbecues, story telling or a cup of morning coffee on back porch. The “gathering room” is a place to enjoy camaraderie and leave the “hustle and bustle” of a city behind. 22 acres of unobstructed views surround you, and cows and a few horses graze in pastures. Great memories can be made in this home I love!
