I bought this historic home years ago when it was in need of a total restoration. Its history, architectural detail, and unobstructed views are perfect for those looking for a peaceful place to leave the "hustle and bustle" of a city behind. With its cozy, magical, and unpretentious beauty, this home is a charming getaway for anyone searching for an unforgettable place to stay in Washington County. The house is located a few miles north of Chappell Hill, and is approximately 30 minutes from TX A&M Kyle Field. It is easily accessible to Round Top, Chappell Hill, Brenham, Navasota, and Washington-on-the Brazos State Park. The kitchen is a great place to socialize, and is well appointed with a semi-pro 6 burner Fisher Paykel gas stovetop and oven, a smaller Wolf electric oven, a wet bar, and a plethora of cooking utensils. A large stone fireplace is a focal point of the house, and it is the first thing you see when entering the Great Room. The dining room room table seats 10, but guests often play games and work on puzzles there. Guests rarely leave the huge airy back porch, enjoying coffee in the morning, wine in the evening, and gorgeous sunset viewing. Built in 1899, the house has thoroughly modern amenities while maintaining its historical importance and sense of history. History buffs will surely appreciate the coffee table book about this home and its era called “Bennie C Krueger, Texas Ranger...Texas Gentleman” by Raymond West (Bennie and his 10 sisters were raised here and many family members still live in this area.) ***Guests*** House sleeps a total of 10 people, comfortably accommodating 8 people in 4 downstairs' bedrooms, each with its own bath access. The upstairs 5th bedroom is a relaxing private suite easily accessible via both exterior and interior staircases. It easily accommodates 2 additional guests with 2 queen beds, an ensuite bath, sitting area, table, refrigerator, and wet bar. ***Pet Fee*** There is a pet fee of $50 per day per dog and a maximum of 2 dogs. The pet charge needs to be added to your reservation. ***Reservation and Pricing*** The price for your stay is determined by the number of guests spending the night in the house. You must enter the correct number of guests staying at the house to receive the correct estimated price for your stay from Airbnb. ****Check out time: 10 am ****Check in time: 3:00 to 5:00 pm
