The space
The house is located a few miles north of Chappell Hill, and is a popular place. It is beautifully renovated and has 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths.

The kitchen is a great place to socialize, and it is well appointed with a semi-pro 6 burner Fisher Paykel gas stovetop and oven, a smaller Wolf electric oven, a wet bar, and a plethora of cooking utensils.

A large stone fireplace is a focal point of the house, and it is the first thing you see when entering the Great Room. The dining room room table seats 10, but guests often play games and work on puzzles there.

The huge, airy back porch is a perfect place for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening while viewing a gorgeous sunset.

Built in 1899 the house has thoroughly modern amenities, yet it maintains its sense of architectural detail and history. A coffee table book about this home and its era is called “Bennie C Krueger, Texas Ranger...Texas Gentleman” by Raymond West. (Bennie and his 10 sisters were raised here and many family members still live in area.)

***Guests*** The house sleeps 10 people, and it can comfortably accommodate 8 people in 4 downstairs bedrooms, each with its own bath access.

The upstairs 5th bedroom is a relaxing private suite accessible via both exterior and interior staircases. Its 2 queen beds, ensuite bath, sitting area, refrigerator, and wet bar makes it a comfortable place.

I bought this historic home years ago when it was in need of a total restoration. Its history, architectural detail, and unobstructed views are perfect for those looking for a peaceful place to leave the "hustle and bustle" of a city behind. With its cozy, magical, and unpretentious beauty, this home is a charming getaway for anyone searching for an unforgettable place to stay in Washington County.
