On Piazza Salandra, the main square in the historic center of Nardò in the most picturesque part of this Lecce baroque gem.

The space
Casa Giulietta is located on the lively Piazza Salandra, the main square, located in the core of the baroque centro storico of Nardò. The apartment is on the first floor of an old townhouse, accessed through a single flight of common stairs shared with one other home, and comprises 70 square meters of living space and a 70 square meter roof terrace.

The apartment has two en-suite bedrooms, both with queen size beds. The first bedroom has a traditional exposed star-vault ceiling, open closet and a modern walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a Juliette balcony (thus the name of the apartment) and a traditional bathroom with a cast iron clawfoot tub. A baby crib is available upon request.

The living/dining area has white star-vaulted ceilings, a sofa and a sofa bed, a dining table for four, a 42-inch smart TV with installed Netflix access, as well as a bluetooth speaker allowing guests to easily enjoy their own music.

The apartment is fully air-conditioned, with units in the living area and each bedroom.

Although the old town and the surrounding areas offer numerous excellent options for eating, the kitchen is equipped with all basics, including a full-size European refrigerator, ceramic top stove, oven, dishwasher, and washing machine, along with microwave, toaster, caffettiere, and a full set of Bialetti cookware.

The décor, like the apartment itself, is a mix of traditional and modern, from the 19th century dining table to the Renzo Piano-designed Smeg hob and Artemide “Alena” wall sconce in the kitchen, to the 1960s vintage Kartell Componibili, and the Svenskt Tenn, Marimekko, and Thomas Paul fabrics.

The dual-level private terrace includes a stone-topped dining table for six, sink and long stone bar area, and comfortable seating on the upper level. It is accessed via the common stairs.

It should be noted that there are 22 steps from street level to the apartment, and another 16 steps to reach the private terrace from the apartment. The apartment is not wheelchair accessible and may not be suitable for persons with reduced mobility.

The apartment is on the main square of Nardo, in a pedestrian area. There is thus no option to park right next to the apartment. There is short-term free parking on Via XX Settembre (250 meters away). There is also free parking on the side streets off Via XX Settembre (e.g. Via Duca degli Abruzzi and Via Grassi; all approximately 250/300 meters away, a few minutes walk to the apartment).

Please note that this is a strictly non-smoking apartment. Smoking is permitted only on the upstairs terrace. Visitors that smoke inside the apartment will be charged the full cost for complete smoke room restoration against their deposit. Pets are not allowed.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the entire apartment, including two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living/dining area, kitchen and a large terrace.

Other things to note
The apartment is not wheelchair accessible and it might not be suitable for persons with reduced mobility. Please note that this is a strictly non-smoking apartment. Smoking is permitted only on the upstairs terrace. Visitors that smoke inside the apartment will be charged the full cost for complete smoking room restoration against their deposit. Neighborhood highlights

The apartment is located in the core of the Nardó historical center. Step outside the apartment directly onto Piazza Salandra, the heart of Nardó, and see the Guglia dell’Immacolata statue, symbol of the town, right in front of your doorstep. Turn to the left and you see the stunning Palazzo dell'Università, a 16th century baroque building. Right behind the Guglia, you will see the striking 18th century Chiesa di San Trifone church and to its right the 15th century Sedile, which now houses the Nardó tourist information center. If you want to sit and admire the sights, Café Parisi is the place to be and it is located right next to your entry door. Sit down for an exquisite Italian coffee, a traditional warm pasticciotto, freshly baked cakes and cookies, or an artisanal gelato. Lunch and dinner are also served, alongside great wine. To admire the square from another angle, walk across the square and sit at the Bar Salandra. Locations to visit and sights to see abound. The 18th century Chiesa di Santa Maria della Purità and Chiesa di San Giuseppe Patriarca churches, the 17th century Chiesa di Santa Teresa church and the 15th century Castello Acquaviva are a must-see and are all located within an easy 5 to 7 minutes walking radius from the apartment. All of the best restaurants and cafes in town are also located within the same zone.
