Casual, spacious, quiet home within walking distance of Virginia Tech. (It's exactly 1-mile campus, and 1.7 miles to Lane Stadium.)
We live in this house, but frequently go camping, so have decided to welcome folks from all backgrounds into our well-loved home on specific weekends.

The space
Three bedrooms, two baths upstairs, and access to two large rooms and bathroom in the daylight basement. Our daughter's room has queen-size bed and a wild mural on the wall. There are too many Legos and two bunkbeds in our son's room. Master bedroom has a cal-king bed. Downstairs are two twin beds in one room, and two queen-size futon couches that make into beds in the Xbox room.

Guests are welcome to use the grill on the back deck, the fire-ring in the backyard and washer/dryer. Pleaste note: We do NOT have cableTV, but we do have a mid-sized TV, DVD/Blu-ray player, wi-fi and an Xbox, all of which you're welcome to use.

Again, this is a lived-in, casual, comfortable home. We hope you enjoy your stay in Blacksburg!

Guest access
Our stuff is on the shelves and in the closets. Guests are welcome to use anything in our kitchen, including the dishwasher. Our kitchen cabinetry is rather old--we'll probably replace it next year. Our garage and one room in the basement are off-limits. Otherwise, guests can access our entire home.

Other things to note
We share the upstairs (not the downstairs) with two independent cats. One is a bit of a cat-dog (never a lap cat). She might follow you around. Her sister only spends the night here. It's unlikely you'll see her. Their litter box is in our garage, but they prefer to used the woods. They should be zero maintenance for any guests (and they don't come into the bedrooms). We often go away for four-days at time and just leave out food and water for them. We love dogs too, but don't have one. We ask that you don't bring any dogs into our home.

This is a mostly quiet neighborhood, home to retirees, professors, and grad students. If its a party weekend, those tend to happen down the hill, closer to VT.
