It was a great trip to Marseille! Very comfortable apartment with great views from the terrace. The apartment has everything you need. The hosts are very attentive and caring, help orient. Thanks Myriam & Xavier for a great birthday holiday!
Myrium waited in the apartment for my arrival even as I arrived past midnight. She briefly outlined the major sights in Marseille and kindly wrote down for me some of her personal recommendations for markets, museums and nearby cities she thought was worth visiting. The apartment is absolutely incredible with a view that will take your breath away. Close to the shopping districts and port, the apartment is well located and is also close to the main train station. I fully enjoyed my week in this apartment and already miss cooking and eating out on that gorgeous balcony!
We just had a great time in this place in Marseille. Though we didn't have the chance to meet Myriam we got the impression that "someone was looking after us" because the apartment was so nice and welcoming - so many details that give you the feeling that someone really tries to make sure you have a good time!
Wonderful apartment. Tastefully decorated, crystal clean and the terrace with the views towards the Mediterranean sea is breathtaking! Myriam is a fabulous host. She left a lovely hand-written note in English at check-in -what a friendly touch. I have felt welcome and cared for during my whole stay in Marseille. 5 star hotels, beware.
This studio loft apartment was a great base for our five days spent in Marseille. With its floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors onto a balcony with rooftop views down to the port, it was picture-perfect. We sank many a €3 bottle of wine from the supermarket around the corner as we sat watching the sun go down.
The loft itself was gigantic (bigger than the pictures suggest) and clean, with a fully-equipped, modern kitchen (the cupboards were full of useful bits and bobs to get your dinner started), a comfy (big) double bed, a great TV system and a smashing walk-in shower.
The unlimited wifi also came in useful when researching the next day’s activities online - as did the balcony loungers, when we wanted to cool our heels after a day spent walking and just chill out in the evening sun.
The location is terrific, in the sloping residential neighbourhood of La Plaine, whose narrow streets house smart, Paris-style mansion blocks. Though gentrifying, it hasn’t escaped Marseille’s famed urban edginess (graffiti both artful and mindless is *everywhere*). But it’s close enough to the Vieux Port, a 15-minute stroll downhill, and with a couple of useful Metro stops nearby (Noialles and Notre Dame du Mont).
For all the local bustle and nightlife – the surrounding areas are dotted with small regional restaurants and lo-fi beer joints bars – the loft itself is in a very quiet spot, and we felt very safe walking around, even at night.
If you want a cosy pad and a sense of the “real” Marseille, you can’t do better than this place. We got chatting to the baker on the corner, who had lived in Leeds before devoting himself to turning out wonderful €0.90 baguettes and fruit-topped patisseries for the people of La Plaine. We also found the regular (thrice-weekly?) food market on Place Jean Jaurès both practical as well as a treat just to mooch around; we stocked up on more delicious nectarines and unusual cheeses than we knew what to do with (mainly, scoff every day for breakfast on the balcony, washed down with endless coffee from the Nespresso machine - a nice touch). We plucked basil growing in a planter on the apartment balcony to make our own pistou.
Our host Myriam was a delight, and made picking up the keys so easy, treating us to beers on arrival and giving great recommendations of where to eat in town and how to find remote beaches along the coast.
If you want a charming contemporary space with home-from-home appeal and great local amenities, look no further. We loved staying here and would definitely book again.
Absolutely spotless apartment with an amazing view! Myriam is a great host and very knowledgable about Marseille.
The apartment is very nice, with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. The terrace and view are marvelous. Thank you Myriam :)
