Rustic-industrial studio with custom details
A handcrafted guesthouse with reclaimed wood walls, vaulted ceilings, and Edison lighting throughout
Cozy, clean, and comfortable
Guests highlight the comfortable bed, and many mention how clean and cozy the space feels
Stay in this handcrafted rustic-industrial studio featuring reclaimed wood walls, 15-foot vaulted ceilings, and thoughtful custom details throughout. Private entrance and driveway, 10-minute walk to MAX light rail, and under 25 minutes to Mississippi Ave. Enjoy high-speed WiFi, a well-appointed kitchenette, and all the comforts of home in this unique urban Portland hideaway.
The space
I designed this space with creative vision and put a lot of thought into every detail. The "rustic-industrial" design includes black iron Edison lighting that casts a warm glow across the reclaimed wood walls, a handcrafted live-edge Doug Fir countertop, and barn-style closet doors. This thoughtful design even caught attention beyond Airbnb - the space is featured on the cover of "Backdoor Revolution," a book about Portland's backyard dwelling movement!
THE BASICS:
You'll have complete privacy with your own entrance and dedicated driveway on the opposite side of the block from my house. There's a small bistro table outside the front door - perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of Oregon Pinot. The studio stays comfortable year-round with heat and A/C.
WHAT'S INSIDE:
High-speed WiFi if you need to work or just want to stream shows. The TV has Netflix, Hulu and Sling ready to go. The kitchenette is compact but functional with a double burner, mini-fridge, microwave, and all the basics you need to cook simple meals. I've stocked it with coffee, tea, and cooking essentials.
You'll find plenty of Portland guidebooks and a few card games for
downtime.
GETTING AROUND:
The Max light rail is just a 10-minute walk away, and you can be in the heart of Mississippi Ave in under 25 minutes on foot. If you're driving, I-5 is just a few blocks down for easy access to everything else Portland and Oregon have to offer.
*The chaise sectional does fold out into a queen sleeper if you prefer separate beds - just let me know so I can provide extra linens. Please note that the maximum occupancy is strictly 2 guests total, regardless of sleeping arrangements.
I've loved sharing this space with travelers for years and hope you'll enjoy its quirky Portland charm as much as others have!
Guest access
You will have access to the entire unit, including its private driveway. You’ll receive a unique four-digit code for the keypad entry, which means that you can arrive whenever you please, and you don’t need to worry about losing keys.

Nature and exploring this beautiful city are biggies for me - backpacking, yoga, and the amazing culinary paradise in this town. I also love working on house, making beautiful things out of wood, hanging with my furry friends, and spending time in my own backyard!
