The space
We wanted to create a welcoming, beautiful space for our guests to enjoy what we and our sustainable city strive to be about- so we choose to offer all organic/eco friendly bedding and towels, feature local, upcycled and or fair trade art/furnishings and offer organic/local or fair trade coffee/tea. This listing is a one bedroom tiny house with full kitchenette. (There is no full sized oven but there is a toaster oven, microwave, fridge, and a great, portable induction stove top to cook with. )Yes, you can drink from the tap-Portland tap water is some of the best water in the country, no need for bottled water. We installed beautiful wood ceilings over highest rated insulation and a bamboo floor, and we have highest efficiency AC and heat, Etsy and fair trade artisan bath/kitchen tiles, art and reclaimed wood table and shelves. In addition to the dreamy Leesa mattress queen bed in the loft, there is a Crate and Barrel pullout couch which is a USA crafted highest rating sofa bed. We offer bedding and towels that are all organic and soap and hair products that are eco friendly and ethically made. We hope the space feels restful and welcoming to come back to after a day of getting to know our local neighborhoods- within minutes are the Williams, Mississippi and Alberta Arts neighborhoods and greater Portland and all it has to offer- a great neighborhood for walkability/bikeability. (Biketown bike rental rack is 10 minutes away as is a local bike rental shop.) Please let us know how we can make your stay as nice and cozy as it can be away from home. All are welcome at Mallory Tiny House!!

Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to their tiny garden house and porch. Enjoy goodies from the garden, we are happy to let you know what’s growing and share!
While staying at Mallory Tiny House, drink our fair trade/organic coffee (or espresso) or tea and be connected via Wifi and use our smart/ cable tv with loads of shows and movies. You will have your own entry with a key, please keep both doors locked for your security. Laundromat is 3 blocks away. Checkout is at 11, Checkin at 4, Sometimes we can be flexible- just ask! We ( my husband Marc, our son half time and renters upstairs and their dog) live on the property, thanks for keeping quiet hours for us and our neighbors- 11-7. As guests you have to be at least tolerant of but hopefully like dogs as our
renters’ dog is sometimes in the yard playing and may come up to you to say hi. Thank you.

Other things to note
This is your space during your stay and we want you to feel welcome. There are a few things we absolutely need from you -we can't have drugs, smoking or vaping (of any kind) inside or outside (anywhere on the property) or loud parties, sorry. (We have severe smoke sensitivity) Mallory Tiny House needs to stay absolutely smoke free -of any kind-to be as welcoming as possible. So sorry we cannot welcome kids to our tiny house. It’s just not set up for young ones. (Under 15 years old)
We try to be good neighbors and since there are folks near (us) and to the side of you, like any neighborhood, we ask for quiet hours 11-7. Thanks for keeping this home respectful to our neighbors- that is what building community is all about. We can't welcome your pets, sorry, we are trying to keep our tiny house as allergy free as possible. If you have a required Service dog please please let us know so we can alert our renter with his dog. We also want to alert our other housemates who share the gate entrance with you. Thank you. We love welcoming our Airbnb guests and their friends/family however we can't have approved Airbnb members invite others to "use" their membership to stay at Mallory House while they stay somewhere else. We want to keep things transparent and connected to Airbnb. Please park in front of our house or in front of park to minimize hassle for our neighbors, thanks. If there’s no parking, try one block down on Emerson, the south side. Or across Killingsworth on Mallory. Usually it is not more than one block to walk. Like most urban areas, don’t leave anything in your car of value.
As the owners, we are not responsible for any theft, accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises. There’s a ladder -which is secure but steep- to get into the loft- please don’t use it if you have any question of your ability. We have organic sheets/bedding for the couch in the cabinet near the couch. We also are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of our guests. Due to City Short Term Regulations, we cannot have more than 2 people sleeping in the tiny house at one time, sadly. There's a great little pocket park to the north of us that is great to hang out (smoke if you like here and on the sidewalk) but take the butts and dispose of them please.) You're welcome to enjoy the front yard garden and let us know what you'd like to pick for dinner, and we'll see what's available. Ants: It is a garden tiny house so you may see a few ants in the shower or floor who have yet to figure out they are not welcome. Just wash them down the drain. We can’t guarantee an ant free stay, so if you’re bugged out by seeing a few ants possibly, please do choose another listing. If a lot of ants come marching in, please do let us know! (Yes, that has happened once or twice in last 5 years. Precipitated by a left out old yogurt or something sweet.) We will do our best to clear them out.
If you leave things behind and they are worth something to you, I’m happy to mail it to you. After dozens of hours taking care of left behind items for free, I’ll need to charge you $20 an hour for my time at the post office and for the postage. I will request the money via Airbnb. Thanks so much for understanding. We are happy to welcome you to our tiny home!
