This beautifully designed, brand new modern house that is a truly unique place- you will not find one like it in the area and we bet you will rave about it to your friends!
(we do not yet have many reviews because its a new property we have been enjoying ourselves and are now beginning to rent)
This house was finished last year. The original had burned to the ground due to the 2007 "Washoe Fire" that started at the bottom of the hill and burned a patch of forest.
Although the house is on the Tahoe National Forest line (think hiking & biking trials), the immediate surrounding trees burned down in the forest fire, opening up a portion of the ridge-line to all-day-sun and end-to-end lake views.
Private beach with beautiful garden, courts, BBQs and piers. Swim, kayak or paddle board- rentals area available right there - or just relax and enjoy the lakeside.

The house was wonderful and the view was breathtaking! The house was modern and perfect for four couples to stay in for the long weekend. Plus the location was great - close to Tahoe City to get groceries or eat out and also close to Alpine and Squaw for skiing. We could not ask for a better place to stay in Tahoe!
Sohail was a great host and sent us a great local guide full of helpful information before we arrived!
We can't wait to go back!
First time here and couldn't have asked for a better experience. House was AMAZING. I'd describe it as contemporary, private, with all the modern amenities that we're all used to. Gorgeous view off the back deck, beautiful kitchen, wifi, and everything was super clean. I've had experience with other accommodations which are more "rustic", but my preference would be this kind of place: within nature, but well lit and I'm not concerned about bugs/critters when using the bathrooms or in the bedroom at night.
Speaking about nature, this is the perfect location to hit the trails. It's right next to a trailhead that leads to the Tahoe Rim Trail, and it's right up the hill from their own private beach. Also, given how close it is to Tahoe City, it was an easy drive into town for food and groceries.
All that being said, it looks like there are plenty of options to choose from when staying in Tahoe. But I'd say you would be hard pressed to find a more gracious and accommodating host. Prior to our trip I asked Sohail for some local recs. She asked a couple questions about the preference of our party, and then sent us a personal mini-guide full of local favorites from trails to activities (paddle boating at the private beach!), and food recs!
We all had a wonderful time. Would definitely love the opportunity to return.
Photos do not do justice to this wonderful house. The views of the lake are just mesmerizing. Its totally equipped and beautifully furnished and decorated.
Sohail is a quite delightful host and we hope to go back again.
My family and I had an incredible stay at this one of a kind house. That view is like a drug. I swear I could just lie in bed and stare at that sunrise forever. Just be forewarned of the total lack of any window coverings in the house. Everyone in house was up at the first hint of sunlight due to the combined effect of my 2-year old's sensitivity to any sliver of sunlight and the fact that sound traveled across those concrete floors much like my toddler and her toys strewn from one end of the house to the other. Note to self: Do not bring a package of beads on vacation unless you want to spend the better part of a day crawling around on the floor picking them up before you leave. Other than the early mornings, I can't complain about anything. The kitchen was very well stocked and the host was easy to communicate with and left very helpful and detailed instructions. Also, the place was immaculately clean. I especially loved walking barefoot in the morning across the warm radiant heated floors. I also wanted to mention that 3 of the beds have memory foam mattresses and they are not all queen beds, some are full size, in case it matters to you. The bathrooms are very nice but the bathtubs aren't normal. They have constructed a large shower stall with a low wall so you can flood the shower stall and soak. For a toddler it's like a swimming pool. I thought it was cool but it was a little tricky climbing in and out and made bathing my daughter challenging without wading into the tub myself not to mention the difficulties of prying her from the seductive waters. Anyway, it was a beautiful and fun place to play for a week. I hope to come back to stay here again someday.
Sohail's house is AMAZING...perfect for couples or families planning a tahoe trip together. There are two sides to the house with a master bedroom, bath and second bedroom...each! Provided privacy and each of the master bedrooms has the same view as the great room.
This is the incredible part, you will be hard pressed to have this view of tahoe anywhere. Imagine waking up every morning to the sunrise over the mountains and a perfect (really...perfect) view of the lake and the south shore.
The view alone is worth staying, beside having great access to Alpine, Squaw and Homewood. Sunnyside Inn is just 5 minutes away for a great dinner.

Northern CA is my adopted home and I split my time between the two wonderful areas of San Francisco and the Tahoe City Westshore. I like to snowboard at Homewood & Alpine and I like to birdwatch whenever & wherever I can.
After the Washoe fire when the original house was burned to the ground, my brother and I designed and built this new house as a collaboration- with some great help, of course. I, and my brother who has a small family, find that being in this amazing space is quite rewarding and inspiring. We trust that our guests will enjoy it as much.
