Room in a rental unit

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
There are four rooms at the lodge. Two on the south side, two on the north. Each has it's own entrance from the outside, own bathroom, microwave, and mini fridge. Common areas are living room, dining room, and kitchen. Some cook in the kitchen but most use the outside grills. Property has a mile of Colorado River front. Surrounded by thousands more acres and no neighbors. Lots of hiking, kayaks, usually a beach, side by sides, fossils, and wildlife.

The space
Base Camp and Last Hurrah are remote. Similar landscape to Canyonlands, without all the people. Lots of big horn and mule deer. Six seater side by side, kayaks, both singles and doubles. Endless hiking and climbing. Two disc golf courses with fearsome reputations. Fossils, dinosaur tracks, Indian artifacts, petroglyphs, finger canyons, and center to the Jackson Hole trail, Chicken Corner, Lockhart Basin, Hurrah Pass, and close to the Wind Caves and all the bicycle trails on the Amasa Back. View of Dead Horse Point, Canyonlands, Anti-Cline, Bear's Ear's and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Large security tortoise, all kinds of squirrels, chipmunks, at least 54 species of birds, and in the evenings ringtails, skunks, raccoons, and fox come to the lodge porch to eat. The night sky is amazing. It's doubtful you've ever seen so many stars and the Milky Way is a nightly occurrence for much of the year.

Guest access
You have free access to the beach, Colorado river, kayaks, hiking, climbing and the six seater side by side can take you to Wind Caves and Chicken Corner for $250 cash or check. You can kayak by the beach, up river and back down, or around the island. 100 years of National Geographics.

During your stay
It's rare when I'm not on the property somewhere. Everyone has a walkie talkie or access to one. I always have mine with me and always turned on. If you need anything I'm available. I can give you hand drawn maps (the professional ones are wrong) of hikes you can do, side by side journeys you can go on, kayak trips, or where your best chance to find fossils or see critters is.

Other things to note
The road is most often mentioned in reviews which normally ends with "it's worth it". A mostly dirt road which normally doesn't needs four wheel drive but it does need six or so inches of ground clearance. Most SUV's, Jeeps, and trucks have that. Most sedans and vans do not. In most instances swing wide on the corners going up and down Hurrah Pass and if you've driven a dirt road before you should be fine. If heights are an issue for you there will be lots of issues up and down Hurrah Pass.

As alternative I would call Twisted Jeep in Moab. Tell them you are coming out here. They'd rather have their vehicle on this road than one of the difficult trails so if they can give you a deal they will.

There's no stores out here so bring your food and whatever you'd like to drink besides water.

When you make your request tell me you have a suitable vehicle and will bring your food and I'll approve the request otherwise I'll email you to get confirmation.

If you plan to use the side by side while you’re here there’s no reserving them in advance. I charge $250 normally for four hours which will get you to Wind Caves and Chicken Corner the most sought after rides. If nobody else wants it you can use it for longer. They are not for taking to town or the other side of Hurrah Pass. Strictly sightseeing the area. I don’t have credit cards so check or cash.
