Two bedroom, queen in master, queen in 2nd bedroom, and couch in living room with a full. Like your house, pots, pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee pot, washer and dryer. 145 acres and a mile of Colorado River frontage. Surrounded by thousands of acres and no neighbors. Lots of hiking, kayaks, usually a beach, side by sides, fossils, and wildlife.

Seven additional rentals on the property if the main house doesn't fit your needs.

The space
Base Camp is remote. Similar landscape to Canyonlands, without all the people. Lots of big horn and mule deer. Three side by sides, nine kayaks, both singles and doubles, and endless hiking and climbing. Two disc golf courses with fearsome reputations. Fossils, dinosaur tracks, Indian artifacts, petroglyphs, finger canyons, and center to the Jackson Hole trail, Chicken Corner, Lockhart Basin, Hurrah Pass, and close to the Wind Caves and all the bicycle trails on the Amasa Back. View of Dead Horse Point, Canyonlands, Anti-Cline, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Large security tortoise, all kinds of squirrels, chipmunks, at least 54 species of birds, and in the evenings ringtails, skunks, raccoons, and fox come to the lodge porch to eat. No it's not dangerous for kids. The night sky is amazing. It's doubtful you've ever seen so many stars and the Milky Way is a nightly occurrence for much of the year.

Guest access
You have free access to the beach, the river, kayaks, hiking, climbing and our breakeven for the side by sides is $200 for four hours. You can kayak by the beach, up river and back down, or around the island. During snow run off the river may be too swift to use. It doesn't happen every year but sometimes in May to late June. Miles of hiking and you probably won't see anyone.

Other things to note
The road is most often mentioned in reviews which normally ends with "it's worth it". A mostly dirt road which normally doesn't needs four wheel drive but it does need six or so inches of ground clearance. Most SUV's, Jeeps, and trucks have that. Most sedans and vans do not. In most instances swing wide on the corners going up and down Hurrah Pass and if you've driven a dirt road before you should be fine. If heights are an issue for you there will be lots of issues up and down Hurrah Pass.

As an alternative I have two people in town that will deliver you to Base Camp and back for about $150 each way.

There's no stores out here so bring your food and whatever you'd like to drink besides water.

When you make your request tell me you have a suitable vehicle and will bring your food and I'll approve the request otherwise I'll email you to get confirmation but I won't approve it until I've heard from you.

If you plan to use one of the side by sides while you’re here there’s no reserving them in advance. I have two six seat side by sides depending on how many are in the shop and I have eight potential rentals so I can’t give it to you all day. I charge $200 for four hours. You can use it to go to Wind Caves and Chicken Corner which usually take most folks two to four hours. They are not for taking to town or the other side of Hurrah Pass. Strictly sightseeing the area. I don’t have credit cards so check or cash. If when you return nobody else wants it you can use it to go Jackson Hole, not Wyoming.
