Great location
95% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Now is the time to book your winter stay: come ski at Willamette Pass, soak in the hotsprings or enjoy the trails during high pressure systems.

Located in Uptown Oakridge, the cottage is an ideal base for summer and fall recreation on the Willamette National Forest. Ride multiple trails from the house or coast down to Cog's headquarters to jump on a shuttle. Swimming holes are a short drive in any direction. High country bike and hiking trails are a half hour east towards Willamette Pass.

The space
Our cottage is not fancy; just a clean, simple place. The open, south facing living room has a smart TV with an apple tv box so you can access your own media streaming accounts. The wifi router is in the living room so you can plug in directly if you plan to work remotely. The wifi service is 40 mpgs, which has worked well for our family to teach and learn virtually this year.

There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and one small bathroom. There is no air conditioning, but each room has a fan and the windows and doors are screened to maximize air flow.

The kitchen is newly remodeled and well equipped for cooking meals: plenty of pots and pans, serving dishes, even a crock pot so you can have hot food after your adventure. There is a standard drip coffee machine and a french press. There is no dishwasher.

Off the back of the house is a deck overlooking the backyard with views across to Larison Ridge. After your summer adventure, grill out on the deck and enjoy the fading light or relax in a hammock strung between big old oak trees. The garage below the house has a washer and dryer and is perfect for bike and gear storage.

Pets are allowed with prior consent from the owner and for an additional $35 pet fee. The back yard is fenced in and there are many easy dog walks from the house. Towels to wipe off muddy paws are provided.

Where you’ll be

Oakridge, Oregon, United States

You might be visiting Oakridge because you are drawn to the world class recreation on the surrounding Willamette National Forest. The area has a rich logging history and Oakridge was once a booming mill town. The logging industry shut down in the 1990's and since then the town has been trying to form a new base industry and is slowly evolving into an outdoor recreation destination. Cog Wild's cottage is located in Uptown Oakridge, which was formerly the center of town and is now being revitalized. This is a working class neighborhood near Oakridge's schools and churches, the Ray's Supermarket and a variety of restaurants. The cottage is a short drive from all kinds of adventure on the Willamette National Forest and only a couple blocks from Cog's Oakridge Headquarters at First and Pine.

Lev and Kirin are mountain bikers who have been riding in Oakridge for nearly 20 years! Kirin loves the descent off Moon Point and Lev likes to suffer all day on remote trails out by Timpanogas Lake. We have a daughter in middle school (time flies) who also loves to ride single track, ski and snowboard. We named the place the "Let it Rain" house since it allows us to extend our riding season and get warm and dry when the weather sets in. Really, who wants to camp in the rain and ride in day old wet clothes?
