Room in a home

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Some info has been automatically translated.
The room is on the upper floor of the house, with a private bathroom and balcony facing west. It is bright, with a floor space of about 20 sqm. There is a real bed with mattress, 140 x 200 cm as well as a workplace and insect protection. Our village, SCHIERHORN, is quiet, located at the northern entrance to the Lüneburg Heath, ideal for nature lovers. There are farm shops, carriages, swimming pools, galleries, museums, concerts... supermarkets, restaurants and bus/train connections 4 km away. Renovations in 1/2024 and 8/2025.

The space
The house is very quiet.
It is especially nice to sit on the balcony in the evening. It faces west, so you have a magnificent view of sunsets.
In the room there is a kettle and mug, so you can prepare tea or coffee (tea and soluble Coffee/cereal coffee, in organic quality, are provided). I am happy to provide cereal bowls or the like. In addition, there is an almost silent mini fridge with (paid) minibar. After consultation (!), my kitchen on the ground floor can be used to prepare a simple, warm meal, but please do not use fish or meat.
The bathroom is opposite the room on the upper floor, it is only used by the guests. There, you will find towels, soap, shampoo, a hairdryer, a first-aid kit, and much more. It is not possible to take full baths. Due to the sloping ceiling, showering is only possible while sitting/squatting.
Rooms and bathrooms are equipped with insect protection and bright pleats on the windows/balcony doors.
Within 2 minutes walk you are in the forest, in the nature reserve for walking, hiking, jogging... There are also a variety of beautiful bike paths. The award-winning Heidschnucke hiking trail leads past the neighborhood in about 2 km.
Extensive information material about the region and a hiking map are available for guests in the room. I can also give many tips for excursions and hikes.
There is the possibility to make music on your own instrument brought with you 1-2 hours a day.
The neighborhood was repainted in January 2024 and renovated in August 2025.
2 NOTES for allergy sufferers: There are also a male cat and a female cat living here :), but the door to the guest room is always kept closed. In addition, bees are kept on the property, but all windows are fitted with high-quality fly screens.

Guest access
Bicycles can be parked in a lockable shed on the property.

During your stay
I'm curious about my guests and have traveled a lot myself. But sometimes I'm also very busy, then I have less time...
I have lived in the region for a long time and can give good tips for excursions in the area.
I am mostly in the lower part of the house, the guest room with bathroom is on the upper floor of the house, so that sufficient privacy is guaranteed.

Other things to note
We make music (clarinet) on an hourly basis several days a week. This can also be heard in the guest room. I'm happy when guests bring their musical instrument. You are welcome to play it for 1-2 hours during the day. By arrangement, music can also be played on the piano in my living area.

Neighborhood highlights

We live in the district of "Schierhorn," which belongs to the joint community of Hanstedt. There are no shops in our village. The nearest supermarkets, bakeries, etc. are 4 km away. The neighborhood is quiet. Our house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac. The nature reserve begins a few hundred meters from our house. There is initially a small stream where children like to play.
The Lüneburg Heath is a popular holiday region, especially for heather blossoms from around mid-August. There are many hiking trails and the "Heidschnuckenweg" (long-distance hiking trail, 223 km) also runs 2 km away. The countryside is also easy to explore by bike. Although there are no high mountains, it usually goes uphill or downhill a little bit. In the surrounding villages there are many opportunities for refreshment. For children or families there is, for example, a wildlife park, a barefoot park, a heated forest swimming pool, a carriage ride through the heath, the "Heidepark Soltau" and activities in museums or farms. In the heath churches there are concerts in summer. There is information material about this and more activities in the neighborhood and I can also help with information myself.

Hello, I live in the Lüneburg Heath, so in a rural area. I am very close to nature, a non-smoker, and a vegetarian. In my free time, I enjoy playing music (clarinet) and doing Qigong or Tai Chi. I like to travel, mostly by bike or for hiking, both in Germany and worldwide. I like peace, relaxation, honesty, and openness.
