Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
**if you are reserving early spring or late fall, please note that, although the tiny house keeps cozy and warm with the space heater provided, there is no heat in the “summer kitchen”, the toilet is in an outhouse and the shower is outdoors. A stay here during cooler weather calls for a heartier guest who is able to tolerate the cold. :) **

A very cozy and rustic tiny house situated on 10 acres mid-way between Duluth and Two Harbors and a short (one mile) hike to the shore of Lake Superior.

The space
This cozy "Lucky Buck" tiny house features twin-size bunk beds, a small sink, a desk, and a collection of comic books. Coffee and tea are provided with a pour-over filter and an electric kettle. Adjacent to the tiny house is a shed converted into an unheated “summer kitchen” with a screened-in porch for guests. Please be aware that the "summer kitchen" is located in an old, uninsulated building, which may allow a few "critters" to enter. We make every effort to keep the area critter-free, but their presence does not signify an infestation and will not be grounds for a full or partial refund. The kitchen includes a dorm-sized refrigerator, a small stovetop, an oven, and a microwave. A table, tucked under the counter, can be pulled out for dining or games. The outdoor area includes a shower, outhouse, hammock, and fire pit.

The property belongs to a skilled woodworker who has built much of what you see on-site. Another Airbnb rental, the “Blue Pine,” is located on the backside of the main house. The "Lucky Buck" is fenced off to provide privacy, allowing guests to enjoy their space with minimal intrusions.

Situated on a heavily wooded lot, the property is within a one-mile walk to the shore of Lake Superior. For those seeking a quiet retreat, please be aware that, along with the sounds of birds, frogs, and crickets, you may also hear the hum of Highway 61 and the occasional train whistle in the distance.

Guest access
There is both a toilet and an outdoor shower next to the tiny house. Wifi coverage is available from the main house but coverage can be spotty at times.

Neighborhood highlights

If you’re in the mood to get out and about, Two Harbors is 12 miles to the north and Duluth is under 20 miles to the south. There are also many beautiful sites nearby. Gooseberry Falls State Park is just over 20 miles north along the lake. And the famous Split Rock Lighthouse is just 10 more miles north of Gooseberry. There are lots of great hiking trails in the area, including access to the Superior Hiking Trail that traverses from Duluth to Canada. You can also walk to the lake from our place and find a number of little hideaway places to explore along the lakeshore. It's about a mile walk on gravel roads but you do need to cross highway 61 to get there.
