About This Listing
Welcome to a little piece of heaven in the very heart of Paris.
After 8 years living in the city of light, my husband Matteo and I found our dream home in the Parisian 5th arrondissement, within a late-19th-century haussmanian building in perfect state. We are renting a typical Parisian studio, or "Chambre de bonne", just above our appartment but with total independence.
While being at walking distance of many of the main Parisian landmarks (Notre Dame, Le Marais, Panthéon, Luxembourg Gardens, Hotel de Ville...) the studio is placed in the area of the Latin Quarter where Parisians live.
We are absolutely in love with our neighbourhood and if on top of your sightseeing, you are looking for a true local experience we will love to help you discover its delights: The local baker where you can buy warm bread all day, the artisan cheese shops, Jean's wine cave, tons of nice non-touristy restaurants with great food, one of the oldest local markets at Place Maubert three times per week, and much much more!
The studio is cozy and functional, it can comfortably host up to two guests, with a real bed that can become a double. It is located a the 6th floor of the building (no lift but after the stairs you can have that extra croissant!!). You have your own toilet and shower, with an aditional external toilet only used by another studio tenant. You have a new (and super silent) fridge, and a microwave. And of course free wifi. We live in the flat on the 5th floor so if you need anything or some advice we'll be glad to help!
For stays over one week, the price includes one cleaning per week with a change of fresh sheets and towels. If you wished to have more frequent cleaning it is possible, it will cost 15 euro per service.
Regarding check-in and check-out, official hours are after 6pm and before 12.00pm, though if our agendas and other guest's bookings allow it, we are always happy to discuss luggage drop-off or more adapted hours so you can make the most of your stay!
The sudio is connected directly by RER (parisian long-distance metro) with both Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, and close to various metro lines, tons of buses and various velib stations (Paris bike renting sistem, you can get tickets even daily we'll explain this if you are interested).
We care a lot about our little studio so as you'll understand, we only accept bookings by guests with a complete profile and picture.
If you are interested in staying over or need more information get in touch and we will confirm with you the availability of our place!
Every visit to Paris is magic and we hope our 5th Heaven will make it also unforgettable!
Smoking and pets are not allowed in the studio, nor is throwing parties or bringing groups of people in. At the end of yoru stay we expect you to leave the place in order, with no dirty dishes and to throw away any litter or remaining food you bought.
In general, we would like our guests to behave with the same respect they'd like to see in people staying at their own place!
This was our first time using airbnb and it was absolutely AMAZING. From the moment we booked the flat over 6 months ago to the minute we left, Christina and her husband were constantly in contact with us - answering all our questions about the flat, the city, restaurants, directions, etc. Cristina's husband sent us precise directions a couple days before our trip. They included how to leave the airport, hop on the trains and walk to 5th Heaven. They were great and without them we would not have made it, ha! The flat is just as it is pictured on the site. Perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. Clean, fresh sheets and towels and AN ELEVATOR!! Trust me, after walking the city you will be delighted to come back to an elevator. The location was great. Safe and centrally located. Metro is a couple blocks away. Cafes and restaurants are surrounding you in every direction, however if you feel like staying in there are markets directly downstairs to grab a bottle of wine and cheese to enjoy in the flat. Wifi was extremely fast and reliable as well. There is a mini fridge, iron, plates and utinsiles and most importantly, a wine opener :) We could not ask for a better host!! In fact, we told Cristina she can't move for a couple of years because we are 100% coming back!!! Thank you so much for your hospitality!!!!!
Great little studio, well located in the Latin Quarter. Close to metro station and within walking distance some major attractions and great little restaurants. Whilst compact, the studio is equipped with all the essentials. Highly recommended.
My parents had a great time at Cristina's and Matteo's appartment!
The appartment is really tiny ( smaller than you would expect) but it is super cozy and located perfectly in the heart of Paris. It is also clean and tidy and it has everything you need for a short trip.
Cristina and Matteo were great hosts. They supplied my parents with every information they needed in advance. They also gave tips for reastaurants and bars that are located close to the appartment. Just great !
Thanks to the help of Cristina and Matteo I was able to surprise my parents with a wonderful short trip to Paris. And I'd recomend this place to everyone who is looking for a nice place to stay in the capital of love!
All in all this place was perfect and there was nothing to complain about.
Thank you so much !
This is truely a fabulous place to stay, in a very well located section of Paris. The room is small (it is an attic after all) but still big enough to do some morning yoga in to stretch sore muscles after walking all day. The room is well designed, the hot water is hot and there is good water pressure. The bed is super comfortable and the towels and linen good quality. The lift is a bonus, though climbing the 6 floors is recommended at least once a day to burn off the bad habits that Paris can foster, like hot chocolate and pastries. Cristina and Matteo are wonderful hosts, urbane and charming, caring without being intrusive, and certainly offered great suggestions and information. Cristina took me downstairs to eat when I arrived which I particularly appreciated after having spent around 24 hours in an airborne sardine tin. I ate at many of the places they suggested and was not disappointed. The bistro immedialy below the dwelling is particularly good, very friendly with good food and wine. The street is charming with a truely eccelectic mix of shops, and the surrounding area is incredibly diverse. In easy walking distance are two wonderful parks that provide a lush haven that feels far from the city itself - Jardin de Plants (the section up near the zoo is particularly nice) as well as Luxemburg Gardens. The Seine is a matter of minutes away where thousands congregate each evening for picnics - great for people watching, in fact the whole city is great for people watching. While the Metro and bus routes are easily accessible it is just as easy to walk places which is one way of stumbling over the many secrets that Paris has to offer. I thoroughly recommend this accommodation, I spent 3 weeks there and was never disappointed.
We had a fantastic stay in the studio of Cristina and Matteo. We were welcomed by Cristina at the entrance just at arriving :) she showed us the studio and explained everything. The studio is small but very cosy and bright. It contains everything you need. She also gave us a lot of tips for the surroundings, where to find shops, good food and good wine as well. Me and my daughter really enjoyed our stay and we think that Cristina and Matteo are the perfect hosts.
This is a fantastic place to stay and we can only add to the great reviews. We feel so lucky to have checked in to this beautiful little apartment in a lovely part of town.
Cristina and Matteo couldn't have made us feel more welcome. It was a joy to meet such friendly locals with endless insights and knowledge of their local area and beyond. They are very generous and helpful with their advice and suggestions, particularly with restaurants in the local area (very nice) and arts and cultural activities all over the city. Also don't miss a cocktail or (email hidden) "Le China", as recommended by Cristina.
The room itself is small and compact but very well designed and perfectly comfortable. You have more than you need and it was great to find an interesting little selection of books on Paris - not the usual suspects.
Just get yourself booked in here!
Jederzeit wieder gern :)
THANKS CRISTINA AND MATTEO :)
About the Host, Cristina
My name is Cristina, I grew up in sunny Madrid, Spain and have been living in Paris for the last 11 years. I've also spent short periods of time living in Italy and California.
I'm married to Matteo, a wonderful Italian man, whom I adore and want to grow old with. He is an engineer and manages a team in a big company. He loves scuba-diving and running marathons, and I believe he has some magical power that makes children and animals always so comfortable around him!
On my side, I love long walks, cooking, reading in a lazy Sunday afternoon just to relax and spending time with the lovely people in my life doing anything that seems fun.
Work-wise I was a designer for 10 years in the tech industry, working to discover and think about how people live, and to create new products and services that would delight them, and have a positive impact in their lives.
Two years ago I decided to focus on my art practice and I now have a wonderful studio in an old plastics factory. My main mediums are painting and drawing and I'd like to explore installation and performance work too. I also remain connected to the Parisian digital art scene by teaching experimental workshops that combine art and technology.
Matteo and I are an incurable optimists, and you'll see us smiling more often than not. We highly value honesty, respect, tolerance and courage. We enjoy being with people and are very sociable (We both speak fluent English, Spanish, Italian and French which helps when travelling) though we also relish and understand the need for moments of quietness and solitude.
When we travel we avoid doing crazy kodak-moment tourism. We'd rather see less cities or monuments and try to stay enough time in one place, so we can get a feel of it and what it has to offer and how people live there.
In 2011 we tried Airbnb for a business trip to San Francisco and have never looked back to hotels. We decided to renovate a little studio on top of our apartment. Since then have been the lucky hosts of many wonderful guests, we love meeting so many people from all over the world and feel lucky to belong to such a special community!
