About this listing

The space

Welcome to a little piece of heaven in the very heart of Paris.

After 8 years living in the city of light, my husband Matteo and I found our dream home in the Parisian 5th arrondissement, within a late-19th-century haussmanian building in perfect state. We are renting a typical Parisian studio, or "Chambre de bonne", just above our appartment but with total independence.

While being at walking distance of many of the main Parisian landmarks (Notre Dame, Le Marais, Panthéon, Luxembourg Gardens, Hotel de Ville...) the studio is placed in the area of the Latin Quarter where Parisians live.

We are absolutely in love with our neighbourhood and if on top of your sightseeing, you are looking for a true local experience we will love to help you discover its delights: The local baker where you can buy warm bread all day, the artisan cheese shops, Jean's wine cave, tons of nice non-touristy restaurants with great food, one of the oldest local markets at Place Maubert three times per week, and much much more!

The studio is cozy and functional, it can comfortably host up to two guests, with a real bed that can become a double. It is located a the 6th floor of the building (no lift but after the stairs you can have that extra croissant!!). You have your own toilet and shower, with an aditional external toilet only used by another studio tenant. You have a new (and super silent) fridge, and a microwave. And of course free wifi. We live in the flat on the 5th floor so if you need anything or some advice we'll be glad to help!

For stays over one week, the price includes one cleaning per week with a change of fresh sheets and towels. If you wished to have more frequent cleaning it is possible, it will cost 15 euro per service.

Regarding check-in and check-out, official hours are after 6pm and before 12.00pm, though if our agendas and other guest's bookings allow it, we are always happy to discuss luggage drop-off or more adapted hours so you can make the most of your stay!

The sudio is connected directly by RER (parisian long-distance metro) with both Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, and close to various metro lines, tons of buses and various velib stations (Paris bike renting sistem, you can get tickets even daily we'll explain this if you are interested).

We care a lot about our little studio so as you'll understand, we only accept bookings by guests with a complete profile and picture.

If you are interested in staying over or need more information get in touch and we will confirm with you the availability of our place!

Every visit to Paris is magic and we hope our 5th Heaven will make it also unforgettable!

Wow wow wow! This place is amazing! What a view! Two min walk to the Notre Dame as well as the Seine river! The place is perfect for two people! Stayed here with my friend and it was so perfect. Everything is small, but it all works out. Cooked breakfast and dinners during most of our stay and it worked out just fine! Christin will provide you anything you need from an ironing board, to a blow dyer, coffee, etc. you will have a good laugh when you stay in this tiny place. Great food places in the area, as well as a quick walk to the metro. Christina really cares about your stay. Don't miss out on this place! Definitely coming back again when I have the chance!!

Absolutey LOVED our stay at Christina's apartment! It was small but comfortable, and perfect for two young backpackers :) the location was perfect (a short walk down the end of the street and you could see the Notre-Dame!) And the 6th floor view over the Latin Quarter was breathtaking. Hopefully we'll be back sometime :))

This was our first trip to Paris and we could not have asked for a better apartment for call home for several days. We walked out of the Metro stop on our first day and we're greeted by the stunning facade of the Notre Dame and quickly learned that Cristina and Mateo's apartment was just around the corner! They were incredibly welcoming, offering us a coffee and a view of their apartment (which is just downstairs from the Airbnb) and then took us to our room. The studio is lovely! Clean and cozy with a picturesque view of a Parisian street out the window. I will note that the studio is quite small so if you are not looking to put the comfy pullout bed away in the morning before heading out for the day, this may not be the place for you. That said, we are seasoned airbnbers and were incredibly happy with the ambiance and value of this apartment. We walked everywhere from the Notre Dame to the Arc de Triomphe to the Eiffel Tower. We ate most of our meals just across the Seine in Le Marais and had no problem finding places to eat (Cristina and Mateo also made several helpful suggestions when we first arrived to help us get started). We will absolutely be back for another stay in the future! Merci beaucoup Cristina and Mateo!!

Cristina was so incredibly welcoming and kind to us, and we absolutely loved her great personality. Communication with her and Matteo was fantastic! The apartment is in the perfect location and close to everything you need - metro, restaurants, attractions, etc. The apartment is quite small, but we didn't realize from the photos how small - if this doesn't bother you you'll love it! For example, when you open the bed up for two people, you can't open the door to the little room where the toilet is all the way, and my partner couldn't stand up entirely in the bathroom nook. This did not detract at all from our stay but it may for someone else. Perfect for one traveler, and wonderful hospitality from Cristina and Matteo!

Cristina User ProfileCristina is a superhost.

My name is Cristina, I grew up in sunny Madrid, Spain and have been living in Paris for the last 11 years. I've also spent short periods of time living in Italy and California.

I'm married to Matteo, a wonderful Italian man, whom I adore and want to grow old with. He is an engineer and manages a team in a big company. He loves scuba-diving and running marathons, and I believe he has some magical power that makes children and animals always so comfortable around him!

On my side, I love long walks, cooking, reading in a lazy Sunday afternoon just to relax and spending time with the lovely people in my life doing anything that seems fun.
Work-wise I was a designer for 10 years in the tech industry, working to discover and think about how people live, and to create new products and services that would delight them, and have a positive impact in their lives.
Two years ago I decided to focus on my art practice and I now have a wonderful studio in an old plastics factory. My main mediums are painting and drawing and I'd like to explore installation and performance work too. I also remain connected to the Parisian digital art scene by teaching experimental workshops that combine art and technology.

Matteo and I are an incurable optimists, and you'll see us smiling more often than not. We highly value honesty, respect, tolerance and courage. We enjoy being with people and are very sociable (We both speak fluent English, Spanish, Italian and French which helps when travelling) though we also relish and understand the need for moments of quietness and solitude.

When we travel we avoid doing crazy kodak-moment tourism. We'd rather see less cities or monuments and try to stay enough time in one place, so we can get a feel of it and what it has to offer and how people live there.

In 2011 we tried Airbnb for a business trip to San Francisco and have never looked back to hotels. We decided to renovate a little studio on top of our apartment. Since then have been the lucky hosts of many wonderful guests, we love meeting so many people from all over the world and feel lucky to belong to such a special community!
